This is going to be a weird one, in order to not add more posts to this thread but I want to respond to stuff so I’ll just edit things in here, great idea! I wonder though, does edits send notifications?
It doesn’t load everything at once, for me at least. Whenever I enter a long thread I’ve already read most things in it only loads the page with the unread posts and the immediate posts above that. The site does not appear to load any threads until I scroll up or down to read more. I can’t say I have experienced any slowness in loading up large threads.

Now I wish chrono splits comments into pages, all at once page is perfect when there are less comments, but now we have hundreds, make things load so slow, and even hard to read 
is there anyway to change this?

We should stop to make it easier for the OP to sift through them.

And @m0n0 I agree, splitting it into pages would solve it I think. It’s probably not a priority atm because most posts don’t get 100+ replies.

Indeed, this is the only thread has reached this many posts so far, and the loading start being a thing. 
@Fraggles: It doesn’t load everything at once is the problem, yes it’s noticeable when you scroll up to read old posts. Example: Scroll up → Load → Wait → Read → scroll up ->…continue the cycle… just a little bit of time to load, but everytime I scroll up, I have to wait the site loading again.
