I see you’ve all thoroughly enjoy my absolutely terrible “pun” or whatever that is. It’s an homage to an old friend of mine who’ve over many years have never ever wished me a happy new year. But incessantly would say hippo gnu deer instead, several times over the new years eve and while we’re barely staying in touch anymore she still sends me that greeting and it’s still stuck in my head because of it. It was never funny but she clearly found it amazingly clever and hilarious. So I figured I’d subject you lot to it in an attempt to get it out of my head for the evening.

probably depends on a couple of things
firstly, “limited” user or not?, since if you’re a limited steam user (ie haven’t spent 5$) then “you” can’t send friend invites (unlimited users should be able to friend request you tho even if limited)
then ofc, do you use it/are active? -play with people, told your friends/irl people you are on steam etc?, Since if you do “nothing” it’s pretty easy to be invisible and disappear in the sea of other users, even more if you “never” play on steam ofc
-these days i prefer SP games myself and are more asocial, so i don’t invite/get as many invites as before, and not playing/talking with some means maybe i even get/got dropped from their list.

in the end it’s sorta like any social platform, you can have 0 if you wish, X amount you like/interact with, or a zillions “just because” despite not knowing/interacting with any of them

I prefer GOG for single player games and Blizzard covers all the remaining bases for me: Overwatch for PvP, Diablo 3 for co-op and WoW for… life wasting? Something like that 
This way I end up not being active on Steam, even if it’s the more social gaming platform.

Meh, is more due to the fact that I don’t play MP games, the comment was more a joke than anything else.
But yea, my laptop can barely withstand regular games so MP is usually out of the question, I tried Duelist for a couple days, it was so slow it took me a minute just to open the daily loot box, all while my laptop was at the edge of collapsing due to a heat stroke, Deponia lags for fuck’s sake.
I recently discovered my video drivers where out of date for like ten years, so I should try again, but no hopes, I should try table top, but got none, and most have 3D stuff nowadays so I don’t know.
Honestly, I feel sorry for whoever adds me, I’m always logged in if I’m using my lap and If you talk to me no problem go ahead I like to talk, but I don’t start talks on my own (I’m the shy type) since I never know if I’m being annoying or intruding, also I don’t have a mic (or a mouse for that matter), you’ll have better luck adding me on Xbox, at least I have Halo and the Division there.
Also, I wonder if the Sakura games are scaring people away from me
