Tomorrow I am going to see if playing a game that is on the ‘free to play’ list counts if you have it purchased on your account.

Why are we having Spring Clean up…aren’t they supposed to be SELLING us games…in a SALE??? Not playing the games we already bought… I am so confused…
I got Magika Wizard wars when it was free, then I saw it costs money soon after.
And you just spring this on me that it’s not even a thing anymore
Or I’ve just gone insane and remembered my entire childhood wrong… well I actually only played the game for like a half hour
True. However, by making you play games you have not played in a while, if ever, they remove the excuse of “I would buy new games, but I have such a backlog already”.
So the next time a sale comes around, you buy more new games.
Magicka: Wizard Wars was always free to play as far as I’m aware, they had DLC packs for some fancy robe and weapons in-game that you could buy with real money. I’ve had played for quite a bit but it’s always this thing with me and competitive games, I tend to drop them really quickly, but gameplay-wise this one was for me the best Magicka game, the first and the second magicka games are a bit janky unfortunatelly. And this one was free and really smooth. It’s sad that Paradox decided to drop support, they really like moneys, who would’ve thought!
Maybe in the future there will be a Magicka 3 that uses similar engine and not the other one they used for the main games. The best engine and the fun co-op part of the game, perfection!
okay, so Fraggles is “half” right/almost fully correct
they haven’t done “this” event before, but they have done other or events with some of the same features
there was a scavenger hunt once which i also believe required you to play some games, getting some of those digital prizes/“badges” -at the time relating to something in the store, discounts maybe (can’t remember exactly so long ago, so i might be mixing that up with another event),
there was ofc the glorious sticker event, etc and many other community “badge” events, some where a few tasks might be to play X/“a” library game,
-and then there was the summer event where steam made an event with their own clicker game you had to play
they “usually” do some sort of silly/“fun” stuff every year/other year/once in a while it seems
but it’s the first time they’ve gone full bore and doubled down hard on the play of games like this
Seems insane that they’d want so many people hitting their servers to download huge trial games that they just want a badge for, with no further intention to purchase.
hm, i think yr on to something there and guess that this must be some sort of stress test for them, maybe they changed something in their systems and need data or something, cuz this rly doesn’t make any sense at all whatsoever and is all quite stupid and irrelevant in itself
Update:
I had sent a message to Steam Community Support, asking for help regarding the Nostalgia trophy, I assume they had many similar requests.
It has now been fixed… They decreased the time limit for the games, so two games popped up for me.
Yay!
hallowed by thy glory,

maybe this is a secret ploy of the Newell Deep State, as a tactic to weed out dissidents, botters and idlers for a hard crackdown. Or a rogue element trying to increase the payday for ISP’s with data usage, before the quarter is over. Could be Valve wanting to overload servers for the insurance money, because soon steam market wont be usable with gambling laws. Maybe it’s all a scam and you aren’t downloading games, but uploading sensitive/personal data before the new privacy laws take effect!, wake up and people!!!
or, or, … or…
*“error, error, conspiracy malfunction”
sry, i just can’t help myself sometimes
Or just testing if steam can handle the insane download request that Half-life 2 & 3/4rs (a legally distinct entity from the long lampooned Half-life 3) will put on the system when they sleeper drop it at the end of quarter 3 this year.
you made me choke on my coffee, so here’s something beautiful for y’all:
if that’s insufficient:
also this:
Quick question, does anyone know when day 2 starts?
I thought it would be day 2 by now, but it still seems to be on day 1 at the moment for me…
Probably when the daily deals reset, one hour after Chrono’s daily deal releases.
edit: The page will look the same as Day 1, but click on the little sticky note things, and you’ll see new lists of games. The trophies will turn from bronze to silver when you complete the new tasks.
Thanks, the stick note trophy went away, so that was the telltale sign, I suppose.
Looks like you only need 16 of the 18 tasks to complete, so don’t give up if you missed the last two days installing the “free weekend” games. Castle Crashers is only 170mb.
