Limbo

Through this thread you go amongst the lost games,
by self inflicted wounds or by stranger’s hand,
they now rest amongst the forgotten.

Voice your grieving and don’t awake what’s lost,
shall you return to where you came forth,
and once more to see the stars.

I remember this one. Totally shut down, right?

Edit: developed by Psyonix and probably abandoned in favour of Rocket League. Understandable. Here’s a Nosgoth let’s play from Angry Joe.

Yeah, but how are people still playing it?

Wikipedia
The game’s open beta began in January 2015 and ended in May 2016.

On April 8, 2016 Square Enix Europe announced that Nosgoth’s servers would shut down on May 31, 2016. Nosgoth’s official forums also shut down on June 14, 2016.

I got the wikipedia because I had to google to remember the name, “vampire arena game shut down” got me there

Keystone/The Amazing Eternals.

Digital Extremes tried to make a game similar to Paragon, but didn’t manage to pull in the attwntion they wanted during their closed beta so they cancelled it.

Keystone was the name during early development and early closed beta, changed The Amazing Eternals soon after the closed beta started.

Now that you mention it… Paragon is shutting down in three months from now.

That’s a good question and probably a mistery that will last forever

This was one of the Chrono deals I picked up, I play it for 5-10 minutes at a time, it’s fun, but never got much attention…

Quite a fun multiplayer shooter. Killed by GFWL.

Rocket League was after, and it’s basically a rehash of their old game. My guess? It was easy money to save the company, though I doubt they expected anywhere near RL’s current level of success. I’m sure Chrono browsers are well aware of my hatred for SquareEnix at this point, but Nosgoth was actually cancelled by Square. The other time this happened was with United Front Games; they came forward with an awesome plan for Sleeping Dogs 2, and got completely shut down by Square; instead, it turned into Triad Wars, an MMO they barely tried to get off the ground (no press, no support, and so on) before quickly pulling the plug. If you thought Paragon and UT2014 were being neglected, you haven’t seen Triad Wars in its day.

Square basically threw UFG out on the curb. They did make a pretty great multiplayer game called Smash n’ Grab afterwards, but their finances were so screwed at that point that they closed their doors altogether and offered refunds for all players.

Dead Alliance

Previously known as Moving Hazard, the game Director was involved in other more popular games, like Red Dead Redemption and Shadow of Mordor.

That graph looks a lot like an ECG.

does this even count as being on “life support”, or just “dead but haven’t realized it”?
-that drop tho, ouch :grimacing:

That increase was when they gave it away for free, I tried it and it was a pretty mediocre game compared to what chivalry was, sadly.

yea i know, that’s why i think it hurts
“93% players don’t want to play your game, even for free”, -ouch
must have stung a little getting that kind of “feedback” for the devs, from a move that was very likely intended to revive the struggling playerbase…
just too mediocre to even remotely compete in an arena with the other competition, bummer

APB:Reloaded isn’t the worst but its been dying a very slow death since 2014.

Dude this looks awful, like it would def. give me a headache (the trailer almost did lol)

I used to play Section 8 multiplayer on my Xbox 360 till it would crash from overheating(?) This game was so good, a lot like a mixture of Halo and Battlefield.

@anon74641759, I just looked at the trailer, that trailer looks pretty bad… the game itself is pretty fun, a few minutes at a time. But I would probably never have bought it if it didn’t come through as a Chrono daily deal…

This one is doing alright it seems, maintaining 20% of its playerbase is quite good.
