Humble Choice monthly - What Are You Choosing and Why?

I see. I also had the same with Monster Train: I’ve played it so much that it feels like I’ve already played all that there is of card games, which’s what I talked about Ring of Pain being more of the same until you replied.

I think that Monster Train also has Workshop support but I may be wrong about it. Like I said I’ll get Slay The Spire later and since it has mods I’ll make sure to add it to my “must buy” list.

Ngl: Little Hope and Disciples got my attention straight away. Deathloop details are forgotten and the others, save Maid of Sker, I’d have to check out.

Little Hope is awesome, Maid of Sker visually pretty and not bad, just not riveting. The direction given to the female voice actress kinda got on my nerves, most likely. “Oh woe and alas, my Thomas.”

@M00 was cool moo and gifted me Monster Train so i took it out for a ride yesterday.

It is a pretty interesting spin on a whole thing i think. I only have played for an hour so far so my ‘professional opinion’ ofc is very important and valid ( i’m just like a games journalist in that regard ) . As Average Enjoyer of card based games i 'd say it is good time .

Havent played Spire as of yet so i can’t compare them. From a glance it does look more by the numbers , not that it is a bad thing or anything.

Near 2 am, but yeah, Death Loop seems like Majora’s Mask but worse. The only Zelda game I couldn’t figure out or finish.

Golf Gang looks chaotic to play mechanics wise.

Railroad Corporation is more business than choo choo - apparently you don’t control the trains, the AI does and badly. Herm.

Epic Chef looks fun, but reminds me of Portia. Also, of the recipe making that was fun in Lunar or was it Star Ocean? Too many RPGs in the kitchen.

Altogether, it’s a good bundle, but subject to correction, Disciples is the best title in there for me. The 2 horror titles, myrr, I would sooner play Little Hope than Maid of Sker. If House of Ashes was in this one then, it would just: :money_with_wings:

Some trains be cooler than others XD

I’m mostly awake now and less grumpy, with discount, I may try to collyfox this month’s choice.

For me personally it is not the most riveting/exciting monthly bundle. I already own ‘Little Hope’, and do wish it was the newer ‘House of Ashes’ instead.

Only truly interested in ‘Deathloop’, as I am a big fan of time loop gimmicks (I know many aren’t). Will have to see if I bite by the end of the month.

So Humble will give me a discount next month of $4 if I don’t pause, which ain’t any help. So, I guess it’s a pass.

This month actually doesn’t look entirely awful.
Eldest soul and Morbid looking like reasonable “souls-likes”.
Raji looks like it could be interesting.
Shadow Tactics is a great game, this stand alone expansion is probably worth picking up.

4 interesting titles out of 8 might just be worth picking up, with a discount.

From those I only own RoboQuest, which’s an okay roguelike.

I’ve played the original Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning through a “downloaded” copy and the game seemed fun, and nowadays it reminds me from a “budget” The Witcher 3, only without the fame and reputation said game has.

I have my eyes on Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (which seems to be the FATE Edition), Eldest Souls and Morbid.

I remember @YQMaoski saying some good stuff about Raji.

Kingdom of Amalur has that “just one more cave” type gameplay. But the game itself is a 360 era action rpg, kinda like Fable without all the bits that made Fable different. A competent mid-tier action rpg.

The demo for Unmetal was fun, comedy parody of the old Metal Gear games (on the Genesis?). The dev has some controversial views on stuff, which is the main reason i haven’t picked it up yet.

@EyeQue is the way. The example to us all. No more a slave to the complex pause Choice mechanic. All hail the bravest among us! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I guess it is a sound business strategy for them.

I mean i think they operate on the same assumption as publishers who give their game for free for a limited time. Sell dlcs  A lot of game ,especially ones geared more to MP pretty much make 99% of their income from DLC sells since they already sold all the copies of the game they could ever potentially sell.

Unmetal looks like a lot of fun tbh. Like Thief with a wacky MC. Raji been on my WL for a lil while.
