9 of the games are on my WL.
Love your title @EyeQue Fits you to a tee
I highly recommend In Other Waters, it was one of my favorite games of last year. Definitely not for everyone, because the interface is so simple that a lot of people might get get into it. The game is mostly played out in your own mind, in a sense of creative imagination with the descriptions that you are given in bits and pieces by the game itself.
I have heard a lot of good stuff about Popup Dungeon and that it has a lot of replay value. @Endyo has a great review on YT for this game, linked here:
Well, if that’s the case, then taking this bundle is a no brainer
Next month will be a big improvement from the current one: Metro Exodus, Darksiders Genesis and Hellpoint are the highlights:
I think I’d like all three of those games, still going to try to fish for a discount coupon though even if it seems unlikely to drop.
Have you paused this month? I did and I just received an email with a discount coupon saying that if I join now, I get 3 months for $9 each, including April.
Single use coupon. Coupon is redeemable for a Humble Choice Premium plan at $9 USD a month for 3 months before any applicable taxes and fees. Coupon expires on May 4th, at 9:59 am PT. Only new Humble Choice Premium customers or customers who currently have paused or inactivated their plan with no credits remaining and who are not on an Annual plan are eligible.
No way am I taking the bet that there will be 3 months worth of good bundles.
I’m betting that June will be a weak month again. And since they’re including April (a bad month), only May will be good.
And if you already have some of the games, it’s even worse.
It’s a gamble, for sure.
PSA/Update on the Control fiasco. Stumbled across this article yesterday and it looks like 505 has now quietly removed the option to buy the DLC from steam directly. It can still be purchased from EGS or humble, but not on steam. I was willing to overlook not including the dlc originally for being offered at such a discount, but this seems ridiculous. I’m about halfway through the game right now and really loving it. Now I’m torn between wanting to play the dlc and also not wanting to give any money to support this nonsense.
It was removed last week. No communication from 505 Games if this is permanent or if they will create a separate page for the standard edition + the dlcs, like they should’ve had in the first place.
If they don’t create and delist the season pass from stores like Humble, then if people want the complete package, they will have to buy the Ultimate Edition.
This is just a another shit move, regarding the consumers, by 505 with this game:
First they announce that the ps4 version would have exclusive content: Control Will Have PlayStation 4 Exclusive Content. PC and Xbox One consumers were second class citizens.
Then, they announce the PC version as an Epic exclusive, pissing off people that wanted to buy the game on Steam or GOG
PS4 and Xbox One owners would not get a free PS5 / Xbox Series upgrade if they bought the Standard edition + dlcs. For a free upgrade they would have to buy the Ultimate Edition.
The convoluted mess they created with the Humble Choice, by adding the standard edition on the page of the ultimate version on Steam. And apparently the version that came with Humble Choice is an old build.
And now this removal on Steam.
Yeah, 505 games are firmly listed under the “Scummy bastards” heading in my book. It’s unfortunate that section has gotten pretty well populated in recent years.
@murphysw Welcome to Castle Chrono! ^^
I agree with you - the way they ‘packaged’ the game was a turn off for me, although it did look like a good one. Guess we have to wait and see what the company does.
Has anyone that paused in April and has received the coupon to have 3 months for $9 each, been able to use it?
Largely unimpressive to me unfortunately. Might fish for a cancel coupon.
Also, forgot about this but yeah. Apparently humble is removing their choose where your money goes. Appears that only 5% is going to charity. How the mighty have fallen.
Is that applicable to across Humble buys @Pylinaer? You can usually juggle those numbers if you want.
Ah well, I’ll check ye via Steam later btw. I’m hella tired. T_T
Yup, they have removed the sliders.
A lot of people appear to be rather angry about it. Especially because it appears that Humble now take the lion’s share.
Gotta agree.
Besides Metro Exodus and maybe Darksiders nothing to write home about .
I guess they would prefer that your money would go to them , wouldnt they hmm ? It would be ‘cool’ if you could choose humble as an option for charity donation.
The sliders are back, at least for now they are. I say people need to stop zeroing out Humble on the sliders and maybe they wont take them away, it is still a business. I am sure they get most of their profit from Choice though.
They were a charity, or at least that’s how they positioned, branded and marketed themselves from the start. The idea they worked with was having developers provide keys and people donating as much or more often little as they wanted to a charitable cause. No side there was trying to make money out of it.
If they want to change that then fine they can do so, but maybe they should have started by not calling their share an optional tip and write “Fuck you, pay us!” instead or something, might have gone over better.
