Whoa there. People getting unhinged from modern politics. I wonder where the zombie game genre explosion normalized biting.

It makes an interesting point about how genres are perceived. post-apocalyptic vs. dystopia vs. futuristic sci-fi.

Could I have the great reset for star wars please?

Ah, nevermind. Paranoia is a serious issue. Hope they either are trolling or will be getting help.

This is as legit as those Spiderverse theories around the interwebs. It’s obviously a troll wanting attention. :man_facepalming:

Anyway, I’m also looking for the first legit reviews of this game. Let’s hope it’s not another Rise of The Robots or a No Man’s Sky during its first years of release.

considering there are people that think the earth is flat and that vaccines are a method of genetic control on top of the crazy religious related fever dreams, or all the cringe on reset era, i wouldn’t be too quick to dismiss every rambling as trolling - there are legit crazy people out there believing in weird stuff

Oh, yes, I agree with you. Here in my country we have this share of people, including in special a certain president. No matter what you say to them they think they’re always right in their minds.

Speaking of Cyberpunk, I think we’ll probably see this kind of people in the game, which’s one of many cases of art imitating life.

The hype and thirst for this game was real:

1.003,264 concurrent players were registered on Steam, beating the previous record for a single player game held by Fallout 4 with 472,962.

Overall, the record still belongs to PUBG with 3.257,248.

And this is only counting Steam. We don’t know the numbers on GOG and consoles.

Ngl It is true that many sci fi stories do promote transhumanism or dystopian things by making it seem cool in some ways… Living underground or whatever. Tho there are plenty of stories which do not glorify it e.g. for that u can read 1984 or brave new world and such. At the end of the day tho dis is all fiction.

But I don’t think it is a part of any global conspiracy tbh this is just the standard stuff they say nothing new :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: The game is just playing with well the cyberpunk futurism aesthetic… Personally i’m more of a steampunk fan x3

Other news I hear that there has been talk the game causes seizures for certain people and now they are going to add a setting the game to tone down the colours and add a bigger warning.

This is the split in preorder sales. Preorders were in the order of 8 million.

Also worthy of notice, is that this game doesn’t use Denuvo, like the Witcher 3 back at the time. I know the hype for this game was off the roof, but I wish companies could use these games as an example and stopped wasting money on Denuvo, that only hurts the paying costumer, and instead used that money to make better games and/or pay better salaries to their employees.

What are you talking about? Witcher 3 never had denuvo from what I can see or ever heard about. It’s a CD project Red game, the guys who have taken a huge stance AGAINST DRM at every turn and a sister company of GOG who built a store especially to provide DRM free games.

“this game doesn’t use Denuvo, like the Witcher 3 back at the time.”

English is not my native language, and probably this sentence is wrongly articulated, but that’s what I meant: Cyberpunk, like the Witcher 3, never had Denuvo.

If I wanted to say that Witcher 3 had Denuvo, shouldn’t I’ve said: “… unlike Witcher 3 back at the time”?

Alright, I see what you were trying to do. Not sure exactly how to ensure that sentence conveys the correct idea though. Thanks for clarifying what you meant.

sad thing is, most of those PC preorders were probably on steam :confounded:

Expected. Steam is the bigger (by far) platform/launcher/store, compared to GOG.

Last year that a tweet said GOG accounted for 1/3 of the digital pre-orders at that time: https://twitter.com/CDPROJEKTRED/status/1148227436007567361

Also, 3rd party sellers sell GOG keys, so I’d assume that GOG numbers are also very good.
