Cutscenes maybe?
nope, those are first-person as well
even if it were just for cut scenes it would already be ridiculous
it completely removes any points of character customization if you can’t actually see your spiffy sht as you play
it’s for the best cuz you can’t even keep the visual look of one item to combine it with the greater stats of a better item you find but that you don’t like, so you end up looking like a doofus just cuz you wear whatever has better stats
I’ve been wearing green pants for the last 10 days or so
really, really hope there was a change of underwear somewhere in there, maybe a shower or two too
the more I read about this game the more, despite its flaws, I am leaning towards buying it. Only cause I’d be going PC, but it does still have alot of issues and the release window fiasco was awful, but there still appears to be lots of care put into the details of the game.
bugs that I encounter is mostly just junk i can’t pick up now and then, 2 small side missions i cant complete (out of what feels like over 100) cuz one bugged the other out (fix might come pretty soon for that, as they’ve done for others already), i got stuck once cuz i got wedged into something and had to reload
besides that, AI behavior and driving needs improvement, driving could be better, and especially collision physics are terrible
I’ve had 0 crashes in 101 hours.
the core gameplay, so stealth, hacking, gunplay, and dialogue/story/characters/setting are simply amazing (only thing i haven’t seen is final mission and ending), and the whole put together, the experience of playing through it, frankly puts it way above, by far, anything else I’ve ever played before, despite and even with its issues.
I even want to keep playing it once I finish the story even though i usually get bored of long games [this game can be quite short if u just follow main story only as well btw] way before i finish them (as was the case for me with Skyrim, Fallout 3, 4, New Vegas, Borderlands 1, 2, pre-sequel, and Ass Creed Odyssey’s been in limbo for like a year too now, for example)
Did they fix the 8mb save file corruption issue and how big is your save file at this point?
they fixed that in 1.06 on December 24, and it’s 61 MB for the whole folder; my manual save file is 5.45 MB
for comparison, Kingdom Come Deliverance save folder is 555 MB

feature or just awesome nostalgia bug?
yes?
obviously
Alright so I took the plunge in a moment of weakness, and I’m enjoying it quite a lot. I’m about 5 hours in, and have only encountered a single noticeable bug so far. The bug itself was just having a random NPC in a room cowering for no reason during a cutscene.
the game itself is a bit janky, combat feels like a mix between updated skyrim for melee and gta for guns. Driving isn’t the best thing I’ve experienced, but I still only have the starting car.
Despite that I’m really enjoying myself so far. The story is just starting but so far is great, the voice acting is quite good, and the overall feel of the game is a lot of fun, and it does feel like they put care into it.
you might be right regarding the melee; i wouldn’t rly know cuz the only times I’ve rly used melee is where the story forced me or when it was just easier to defend myself with a katana cuz one mini-boss kept rushing and meleeing me and so it was easier to just parry them. But, yes, the few times i did use melee, it felt pretty janky, but i never gave it another thought cuz I completely focused on stealth/hacking and then guns when discovered or just felt like it.
But i would argue the gun play is way better than GTA’s though, not only do the guns look awesome (I’d argue there’s not enough variety in them and they could’ve been more “sci-fi” but they’re definitely more varied than GTA too) and are the animations rly detailed, but the gun play itself, as in weapon recoil, variety, handling, etc. are way superior as well. (not insanely good, but not lacking either)
Free dlc or cut promised content?
lol…
Modern day DLC:
Have an extra weapon skin, here you go, as promised!
Have they not learned? Stop setting up release dates lmao
Is that even official?
Now I am all for holding CDPR to task for the things they did indeed fail at. But this I do not think is one of them. I don’t know for sure but I have not heard about there being any content cut for time which would now be reintroduced as DLC.
This is something they did with Witcher 3 as well and to great praise, sure some if not most of it was probably things that were started at some point during development and put to the side to prioritize something else. But that’s a thing that happens in every project of any kind really. That they continue to work on additional content to release afterwards, for free, is not a bad thing. The DLCs released for Witcher 3 were mostly good content, a few minor quests and alternative outfits for a number of characters. Nothing ground breaking but also not anything that would have been missed if left out.
Also things that other developers would have happily charged you $5 a piece for or $25 for a “season pass” that only includes half of the things.
I get the desire to deride them after what happened here, but as I said, go for the things they actually did wrong.
