OK, it sounds like you’re playing TW3 vanilla… so I’m gonna recommend you some mods to at least soothe some of that pain! I know it helped me with the same issues.

Listen, I have issues with it too but… I’ve never been crazy enough to play it vanilla. You should mod it. No game is perfect but TW3 community has made so many improvements to it that it might as well have become! So indulge in it

After 500 hours with the game, I’ve become accustomed to the parry mechanic. It feels really good when you get the timing right. I was searching for some clip from my console playthrough, but I couldn’t find it. I’ve found another parry tho
I’ve played my 255h almost completely vanilla. All I’m using right now is the friendly hud mod just so that I can remove the minimap and remove undiscovered locations from the main map.
Oh my flip, really? My immersion with mods started when I realized Geralt couldn’t jump in shallow water and since then I swear things have improved for the better!

yea i always play all games vanilla first on initial playthrough
(mods might enhance or make a game better, but it should be able to hold up on it’s own imo to be “worth it”)
i did consider “punishing” roach by turning him into a unicorn or something tho, because that horse is naughty and silly
(i love how i call him and he brings 2 bears or 5 wolves or nekkers with him running in from the woods, or how he freeze in place by the sight of water droplets)

Although I think Triss no doubt has her charms, I always found Yennefer’s personality the most interesting and challenging to figure out. I say that despite the books – I haven’t even read all of them, just the first two – and despite the other games – haven’t bothered to play more than a couple of hours of each of the first two.
Overall, I’m glad The Witcher 3 gives up the option!
although I secretly wish we could pick Dandelion as well.
They manage to do it in a very “lore friendly” way as well, I really liked how they wrote the end parts of the relationship story arc.

After having spent so much time and effort to find each other and being so endlessly in love it gives the player an entirely reasonable out. Ending the Yennefer arc with a hunt for a djinn to nullify Geralt’s wish that they fall in love you let the player decide if it was all just magical influence or true love after all, without breaking the lore the books established.
Triss might be hot but she’s seriously manipulative and selfish, If you’ve got a thing for red heads then Shani is clearly the better option

I read somewhere, at some point that Tris magically roofies Geralt into sleeping with her, which I’m not okay with and is one of the big reasons why I don’t like the two of them as OTP
