hehe i know right,
Luckily here in Denmark i don’t believe we have any censorship at all on games if they are released in a uncensored/vs censored version,
so having bought Manhunt (and enjoyed the heck out of it) i found it both sad and hilarious the “stir and uproar” it caused some places around the world lol
which applied to a bunch of other games too ofc,
god i dread the day the uk or german ratings board get more influential in what releases are “appropriate” for our market
no South Park Stick of Truth censor either here, so yay!
EA sports mma because it advertises energy drinks, though it does say you can have it in Denmark just not sell it
right, that 1 was particular weird, because even tho the reason stated was a supposed law forbidding advertisement of energy drinks, even though energy drinks were and are still advertised, even on TV (redbull in particular ofc, and CULT even had some notorious ads too)
making the whole ordeal that much more strange
In all seriousness though classification is important and yeah they don’t get everything right and somethings are always going to get banned for stupid reasons like antiquated morals but adults are idiots too and need their hand held sometimes. Maybe the reason postal and postal 2 haven’t been removed from steam is because no one really cares that much as long as no one brings too much attention to it, like jay walking.
Can’t disagree with rapelay being banned in many countries, I’ll defend classification on that one.
Only thing I know gets banned in Sweden are certain Japanese games of ‘sexually suggestive nature’ because we can’t differentiate between an actual child being abused and a drawing of a teenager exploring their ascent to adulthood.
