I applaud your ambition and appreciate what you have done here, you’ve obviously put some thought into it. But I feel its too complicated and some of the systems deviate from the core of how the site works and what the system is meant to be.

I feel the large amount of currency types (coins, coloured coupons, forum coupons, contest coupons, limited coupons and puzzle pieces) is overly complicated and would be very confusing especially with the multiple ways that they can be used, I feel I would just not understand what to do. Also the coins every few hours thing seems a bit like a chore, especially as the site really doesn’t need to be visited multiple times a day as nothing really changes over the 24 hour period on the main site.

I could compare the system you are suggesting to a free to play mobile game (wait for energy every couple of hours so you can play, many currency types used for different purposes) and to be honest most people get annoyed by those sorts of systems.

Also the discounts you are suggesting on the games you play real money for are too high, the people working on this site need to make money and if they discount the already discounted games that are on sale here for the amount you suggest they wont get their share of the profit.

The idea of the system in place now is simplicity, get coins each day for looking at the game on sale (main reason for doing this coin system), get streaks for bonus coins, use coins to redeem games in the coin shop.

Now this all may sound a little negative from me, but again I applaud the thought you put into this, but I think you need to go a little simpler in your implementation.

Have to agree, this overly complicated/confusing and doesn’t seem to mesh with the elegant simplicity of Chrono. I read it twice and I’m still not 100% sure how it all works. But for taking the initiative to redesign the website and overhaul the entire system

remember the old days when things were simple?

you had 1 thing, did 1 thing, got 1 thing, used that thing on another thing?
I liked those days
then around the time my sister got born 10 years later, and suddenly things started to slowly change.
More things!, bigger things!, many small things to get one big thing, or a big one to get many small ones.
More numbers on the screen, different numbers, colours, BIG numbers.
Did 1 thing but you got explosions of colours and numbers, big and small, allover.
But you couldn’t really do anything with all of it.
You just had to wait and do it again just so you could do it again, and then eventually you could maybe do and get something, maybe, but still not just 1 whole thing…

yesterday i put a coin in a gumball machine and it spat out a round red ball of chewing gum. It was a nice piece of gum, even if it only lasted 10minutes.

I liked yesterday…

guess i’m saying, if it ain’t broke, why make it overly complicated to try and fix it

couple of gripes inc:
this also seems very lob sided too in favour of the user, i.e. “give us more free stuff”, even more to some than others (i also see this exploited in several ways)
and a discount coupon, on already discounted sale items(or is that note meant as Chrono stops doing regular sales, and only msrp now?, which would kinda defeat the entire purpose of the site), or free coin shop items, seems, sorta greedy to me.

lastly, not only does this overall design scream of mobile “play”/enticement for “click+glitter swayed people”, which i find sad enough as is
but that last mention, that juuuuust had to be put in there, “chest, cases, capsules, crates, keys” made me vomit and think this is straight up G2A’s alley or other bottom feeders alike, -“lets hook all the addictive traits we can in one marketing swoop”
(of course you couldn’t have known my stance on those things, but i would not be sad if that shit was banned on a governmental level, world wide. It’s gambling, go to casinos for that, don’t market it to impressionable kids, or other vulnerable people)

Aside from my perennial, games every week not every fortnight desire, I think that the simplest improvement to implement would be an history of previous Daily Deal’s, either at the bottom of the current deal page or on another page altogether. That way new visitors to the site can get an instant idea of what they’ve missed out on and the sort of savings Chrono offers and create more incentive to stick around. (after all there is a similar idea already present in the coin shop with the sold out images)

okay now that there sounds brilliant to me! Should just be handled elegantly tho, so it’ doesn’t get all overly cluttered scrolling through 500+deals and counting.
+i sorta like to see what i missed out on just for kicks “aww, game i wanted that time, x% off, AND i missed it! dang it!” (i have actually had fun going through past deals in forum doing that before)

if you didn’t mean the suggested implementation as i took it, then i’d chalk it up to the wording and my misunderstanding, in case you just chose every translation for a “container”
"chest, cases, capsules, crates, keys, boxes", and whatever the “Puzzle box” craft is.
Because those to me very much made it sound like something specific, (with negative connotations), but that might just be my skepticism and being jaded with all recent events regarding similar stuff

tho overall i think the suggested design is overly complicated and unnecessary(it’s not the text that makes it appear so, the more and more “stuff” you add to something the less simple it becomes) nor needed imo (and defeats a lot of the purpose of how the coin+deal works)
not to mention some of those discounts coupons, applied/received at an “opportune time”, would make profits impossible on some sales/games
(there is a reason for the given discount as is, rest would come directly out of Chrono’s own pockets).
Only way to combat this would be to restrict them to not apply to certain sales/deals/games, thus making them pointless anyway, other than just “convert to coin”-because give us more and more coins

so the user gets more stuff, but Chrono receives nothing from all of this. (except maybe the referral system, which could be negligible anyway)
The system doesn’t incentivize more purchases, i.e chrono getting their slice, just more “activity” from the users.
Which doesn’t reward chrono, as it’s not that type of “stick around long enough eventually buy something today”-store, so the activity just rewards the user
(which tbh just seems like a hassle, especially given how people already complaint about something simple as a 3sec captcha)

(also hard to see how this isn’t just a “coin grab” suggestion, when the base amount alone gets raised potentially 5x lol, before all the other added coupon bonuses etc)

but i’m a cynic at heart,

So much text I ain’t even gonna bother. I just picked up that first, you talk like this was official - don’t - and also coupons for games? You know that the prices are already extremely low, right? That’s what Chrono does. They try to offer the lowest discounts available. I think these coupons are asking a bit much.
I do however like new ways to spend coins and such, but I think it’s in the interest of the website to leave out any ways we can get monetary value out of it and I’m 100% fine with that.

Are you trying to build your own site? And using this as some form of testing?

I would stop coming here if all this stuff was introduced, the site name should be changed from Chrono-gg to Clicker-gg.

I’m not paying for a premium account, what is this a subscription box? This is where the gambling aspect comes in I pay ‘real world money’ for a ‘chance’ of a discount.

I think you fundamentally don’t understand that the developers of the games and the site owners/employees do this to make money and the discounts are carefully calculated to give the best percentages for both themselves and the consumers.

Yes a lot of games are doing it and they are universally despised, hated, disliked, abominations, everything wrong with gaming.

They will eventually be restricted but laws take a long time to be implemented, see the recent case in China where companies were required to display the odds for loot boxes and immediately got around the laws by making a special in-game currency (that could only be bought with real money) that the loot boxes would be purchased from, meaning they were no longer bound by the law.

Chrono doesn’t stream or have a YouTube. what is vote for captcha? that’s not a thing.

Inventory already exists, it’s called Orders. There is no need for a shopping cart you can only buy one thing on the site.

Milestones already exist they are called streaks and don’t even think of taking them away, you don’t understand the competitiveness surrounding being on top of the leaderboard.

The reward already exists, the daily coin, coming back 4 times in the day is pointless as nothing else has changed on the site.

now i did give the benefit of the doubt in case i misunderstood, but your in depth explanation does seem to confirm this is the “bad” kind of boxes

Skins, skins or anything alike (wallet cards, so on) = cashing out, = greed, =taking advantage of a generous marketing strategy, and turning it into a frenzy fueled exploitative mechanic at best, for people either solely wishing to cash out(get something for nothing)
or in the style of G2A, Cs:go lotto straight up gambling “the house always profits”
now why “this is bad”, other than the aforementioned gambling aspects of it, the subjective nature would take to much time to list, compared to the bare note that would be taken of it

expiration does not denote the fact either given luck of the draw or by forced mechanics, a discount could come up that would completely nullify all profits Chrono got from said sale (hence the mention of “there is a reason the discounts are as they are already”
expiration dates only further serves to invalidate their usefulness, as other than converting to coins, you could go forever never getting a coupon that was any use to you for a game you wanted (more “gambling” effect)

absolutely, your strategy purely offers chrono minimal increased exposure. which does not = automatic increased profits. They would need an increase in sales directly proportional to the increased exposure and its cost, to just break even
and again, nothing in your system, rewards chrono any money whatsoever, other than potential exposure.
Since their business model is sales, they would need to actually sell more, yet nothing in your system incentivize this. It purely incentivize increased user activity, not something that adds money to chrono, it only increases costs

correct it doesn’t increase x5 ( i meant x4), and is in actuality “just” x3.5, going from 20 daily now to 70 with your system,
which is a massive increase on it’s own, before the other extras come in (and any potential abuse. The more complicated a system the suspect it becomes to exploits)

and the reason i stuck on the boxes and coupons was those were my biggest gripes(as i saw them as really big negatives), didn’t want to nitpick every last part

• Daily time rewards: more hassle, either some users gets even more left out, or it just creates extra pointless activity.

• Milestones: in theory why not, but we already sorta had such suggestion in the form of a leader board, why should everything be constantly rewarded with extras?, other than “give me

• Giveaway page, i don’t like the style of indiegala giveaway (half seems like you wanted it specifically related for halloween only, but also seems like a perpetual thing given the coupon-tie-in), And i much rather prefer the giveaway we have already, Coin Shop, and user based, no need for extra “entry fees”

• Inventory. Yes and no. Depends on for what. forum “glitter”/customization sure.
  Easier way to hand out/transfer purchased games, maybe, but seems a bit over the top for something like that. Hence why it’s main implementation would be to accommodate the rest of your superfluous concepts.

• Shopping cart. I think we already have that. granted it’s very rudimentary, but since it’s a 1 deal a day situation, it doesn’t, on face value, appear to need much tweaking

• halloween
  personally i’ve actually suggested special themed events before, of which halloween could/would be one, (how chrono were to go about it if so, i wouldn’t know, i just liked the idea of something “seasonal theme specific”)

Again the 1 deal a day of select games is the whole thing, which a lot of your suggestions would imply you forgot.
For something like g2a and how they handle business, it seems like it would fit perfect.
There is nothing to “browse” here, that would reward chrono money for time spent on the site, other than the visit itself. You come by, see the sale, buy or not(or think about it and return later).
The only place you spend time is the forum, which doesn’t yield a sale like other stores where you browse through a catalogue
no bundles or mystery crates like other sites, because so far that’s hasn’t been the aim of Chrono. They wanted to set themselves apart from what the rest of the sites were doing.
(i can’t actually really recall them selling actual crapware either like those other sites, because it doesn’t appear to be that “volume” is their business, but quality + a bit of niche)

again i can’t state enough, the 2 major gripes was just because, to me, they just oozed being so very bad.
Either “just give me more free stuff”, because the majority of it is straight up -reward more/X coins, and partaking in something i find extremely poor taste: the skin business.
Or even worse, gambling (which a fair bit of this is in essence)

OK i am gonna be a bit more straight this time, this is NOT in beta and I say its not in beta because you will not implementing these changes, so there will never be an official release of this on this site and the people who have the power to change this site have not mentioned anything in terms of changing the coin system like you have suggested. These are just your ideas for changing the coin system and although you have changed the title of your post its still misleading.

You say there are only a 4 coupon types but still there are many currencies that flow into this system that just makes this idea all too confusing and with the different percentages and the large amount of different methods to obtain them as well as expiry dates its just too much, it would make this system like a management sim game and this would actively deter me from returning to the site.

Addressing the post i am repling to:

1. A lot of games have these systems yes and a lot of people dont like them. People find them confusing and frustrating as they have a steep learning curve and just leads to many people to want to drop out, granted some people figure them out and stay with these systems, but you would be isolating a part of the community that doesnt want to deal with this type of system

2. I am not sure what you are saying here, but no matter the rarity if it is cutting into the price of the daily deal it will likely remove the profit they would make from the sale so they get noting from this

3. If I remember correctly the people who run this site have actively said that they don’t want advertisements on this site, and as for watching their youtube/twitch well i don’t believe they have one at the moment and tbh depending on the viewership it probably wouldn’t make too much money for them (hence why they have partnered with influences to help spread the word about the daily deals)

4. Again doesnt matter about the rarity it will still cost them money in the long run with little to no benefit, in fact more likely a loss
