So I’m going to complain about youtube for a bit.
I look at the suggested videos and I am just not interested. Which is sad because I want to watch something. What’s even worse is when I see the same 3 to 5 videos every day for a week. I didn’t click on it the first day I saw it, why is it still showing up? Should I click it just to remove it? So I made a drastic decision.
I went into my thousands of videos in my “watch later” list. I mean, there are videos 8+ years old in there. I found so many interesting videos! Where have they all been hiding!? But when I went to the channels to see their other current videos… last video uploaded 4 years ago. Or 2 years ago. Or it became a minecraft channel. Etc. They aren’t what they were anymore. So that was depressing.
I’ll just entertain myself with these watch later videos for now until youtube fixes their suggestions.

Definitely do not click on anything to make it go away, that will register as you being interested in that video for future recommendations. Instead you can click the three dots menu by the side of the video name and chose either “not interested” or “don’t recommend channel” and that’ll get those videos out of your recommendations and trains the algorithm to serve you better content.

Darn. You’re right about not clicking videos I’m not interested in. It seems so obvious now.
As for “not interested”. I tended to leave that alone because sometimes I don’t care about that youtuber saying it and I don’t know how the algorithm will interpret my interest. Not interested right now? Not interested in this youtuber? Not interested in the clickbait name? You know what I mean.
Though that could be why my youtube has run in itself into a dead end. I’ll start doing that too and try to train the machine. Thanks!

Kentucky got absolutely shrek’d by the storms and tornadoes. Half a town was completely obliterated last night, and dozens of other towns destroyed too. Tons of factories and stuff got hit as well. Pretty sure this is the worst we’ve had at least until 2010.

Did I sleep through a storm or something? Cuz both them probably passed where I live. Maybe both saw where they were headed, said EW, and went around.

It’s been a lot of rain and wind today here. We went out for a walk in the park bookended by a couple of trips to the store, well, for self-indulgences.

At the beginning we had a bit of rain. Then it stopped and wind went nuts. We lost electric for almost 5 hours and they are still working on it according to Fake book. Some people are reporting 17 hrs etc. Trees are down all over the place.
Here’s a local report. The first picture in the slide show is a park totally underwater from the waves and this is Buffalo, NY across the way On the Niagara River. That LONG black thing is the break wall.

Thankfully you and your family are okay. I also had a storm here which forced me to shut down my PC with winds and lightning, so I waited for it to pass to turn it on again.
