Happy Turkey Day @delenn13 !
Yeah @delenn13 I heard that on the news the other day. I was curious and just looked up itās history, and the it says the current Canadian Thanksgiving is on the second Monday in October to celebrate the harvest and other blessings of the past year. You mention turkey, is that a common meal choice for the holiday (as it is here in the USA)? I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
Yep all the same minus the Pilgrims and itās on a different day.
First year I was here, I did BOTH Thanksgivings. Never again.
So my new laptop arrived today and omg the amount of bloatware in itā¦first order of bussines is to reinstall clean version of windows lol!
Sorry to hear about it. Sometimes in life things donāt go as weāve planned, so we have to find alternative routes to go on. I hope you can find yours somehow.
Love is a complicated thing, and in the world we live in itās becoming a rare commodity thanks to some people making it into a shallow affair and discarding it like a plastic cup. Not implying anything, itās just that nothing lasts forever, so any good memories you had together will always stay forever.
Anyway, stay strong and I hope you donāt give up on finding someone who really cares about you.
Thank you for words and insights @carvalho20ptc .
Every bit of kindness these days means a great lot to meā¦
Iāve tried buying new shoes this week, which has now resulted in 60+km cycled in total. I am exhausted and I still donāt know if I like the shoes or not. Why canāt there exist a perfect shoe? Iāve tried so many shoes! Some fit great but have weird soles, some have a wonderful soft step to them but too narrow across the toes. Some have decided to make most of the shoe out of a sheer mesh material thatāll rip the first time it so much as smells a forest path and some finally look as if they were designed by a kid stuck in the 90s with ADD.
Why does it seem to be impossible to find a pair of shoes that fit and step like a running shoe but are made out of some nice faux leather and could work paired with a suit? No if thatās the look youāre after you get wooden insoles or some other bs.
I hate shopping, for shoes in particular.
Annoyed and disappointed today.
My sister gifted me the munnies to get the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster bundle (what Iām missing, which are my two favorite FFs!) but the Steam purchase failed at the check out and now my account is purchased locked for 72 hours + they are holding the $31 hostage.
Why do these things always happen? I really hope they are not going to double charge my sister, sheesh.
EDIT
Iām not ashamed to admit I went full Karen on Steam support. They got it resolved fast because of that. lol
I feel for you, buying a good pair of shoes seems to be something I havenāt figured out yet. Mostly because I hate the idea of having to purchase 10 different pairs of 100$ shoes just to find out which one is for me. Iāve scoured reddit threads and numerous other sources looking for good work shoe reccomendations, but it always seems like I turn up with nothing but a bunch of people saying that you just have to try them out to know if they fit your foot. I understand why itās like that, but it doesnāt make me any happier about it.
I just have to throw in this joke here that I learned when I just a kid:
A hillbilly was sitting on his front porch in the summer and flies were crawling all over him. His friend asked āwhy donāt you shoo those flies?ā. He said āI canāt find shoes small enoughā.
I have been neglecting buying shoes during the pandemic and bought some way to expensive boots, but they are really pretty and made with good leather. Now iāve spent som time updating my shoe caring kit and getting into leather care and polishing.
Now i want another pair, cause my alternating shoes are a pair of Dr. Marten and they are so cheaply made.
Those look really nice, I would like to buy something that looks like that but has the inner sole construction of a running shoe. That being quite soft and springy but with good arch support. Anything that Iāve found to try on looking even remotely like this pair have been pretty much flat and solid. Even putting in an aftermarket sole with an arch supporting role have managed to make up for the internal structure of boots like these.
These are what I ended up with in the end.
They have GTX in the name so you know theyāve gotta be good!
Hmm makes sense . They are black so no RTX ( Raytracing ) .
Iām not sure if there is any place here to mention this, but I just wanted to inform you that Chris Ayres, known for playing Frieza since Kai, has recently passed away. Below is a statement from his girlfriend, if Iām not mistaken.
Heās honestly one of my favourite interpretations of the character, although he sadly has a troubled medical history, with Chris even needing surgery to stay alive. My deep condolences to his family and friends in this times.
Iāve been dealing with an injury on my back since October 12nd, so Iāll be taking less time in front of my PC to do things. Iāll go see a doctor about it and hopefully itās nothing too much serious.
ACH! I hope it will be simple like a need for rest mew.
