Hmmm…
Anyone here play older FPS like Unreal?
Or, just me?

Long time ago , yes . Same as @Gnuffi mostly at internet caffes  i think @onLooSe plays Quake Champions which is not old but i guess tries to capture spirit of old arena shooters.

Like @DontBeSilly mentioned … I still jump in Quake Champions (don’t have gaming time at all recently) to scratch the arena FPS itch. I always hated Unreal though … too slow movement for me and having second firing mode of weapons made positioning and weapon defending (tactical side of things) worthless.
I have thousands on thousands of hours in Quake 3 arena and Quake Live.

Quake is the most fast paced, skill and tactical heavy shooter ever made - No competition
I will always go back to it in whatever form if they keep this formula.

If you don’t post your hours I will gladly do it, because this is almost offensive
Missing our gaming time buddy!

So true, I totally agree.
Except you’ve misspelled Unreal;D

Late '90s/ early '00s is the golden era for me, I’ve never stopped playing those games.

Reading through Harper’s Magazine in my private reading room tonight:

fancy outhouse

and saw this article which I at first thought was an early April Fools joke. After reading it I still have to wonder why these Orders are necessary?

Anyone play this game? Were these Orders really necessary?

New World Orders

From a list of recent changes to the abilities of characters in Crusader Kings III, a computer strategy game released last year in which players select a medieval dynasty and guide successive generations through wars, alliances, and political intrigue.

Blind characters can no longer become knights

Reclusive characters can no longer host their own feasts

Children can no longer be educated by hardened criminals

Children can no longer initiate a literalist debate

Very inbred families can now negotiate alliances

Characters are now less eager to marry people of whom they are terrified

Vassals of vassals are now able to declare war on vassals of their liege’s liege

Infertile spouses will now no longer wish one another “a long life and many children”

Spymasters can no longer try to dig up dirt on themselves

The Pope can no longer publicly accept cannibalism

Players can no longer attempt to learn dead people’s secrets

Players can no longer be tortured into confessing a secret they don’t know

Players can no longer lose a friend they didn’t have

If anyone cares - Hell Let Loose is just great.

Yeah, it’s EA game and has it’s share of problems. Performance can be dodgy and it took me quite a lot of fiddling to make it run and look up to my standarts BUT once it goes it goes hard.

It is taking me back to old days when i spent most of my time playing Project Reality, super realism mod for Battlefield 2.

Epic 50vs50 battles with commanders, squads , artilery , armored and recon units. Also a lot to do if you bad or not feeling like shooting as there are several support classes which can help their team in other ways by providing supplies and equipment.

Nothing beats that feeling of being pinned down by an enemy heavy tank with your squad and findind a way to distract its gunner so your engi can sneak behind and put a satchel of explosives on it or running for your dear life looking for any sort of cover then enemy bomber is spotted coming your way.

Goods stuff, good stuff. And all of this by a Indie dev which got this project from the ground by themselves.

Isn’t this just a list of bug fixes? At least it reads like a CK3 list of bug fixes, with a tongue-in-cheek name.

The photo gallery on my phone auto-tagged my Ace of Spades drawing as office supplies. Anyway made some changes.

My daughter tells me there are more of these around that sound as crazy as this one. That if one should search they are easily accessible.

If the game requires these type of bug fixes, it likely has other issues that I am not sure I want to know about.

Some of the ‘fixes’ are just plain weird and make me question why they would have been in any game to begin with.

Glad the game is fun for ye! Reminded me I need to install Sims 4 today. Want to try some avatar for making some novel like stories. The dreams won’t quit.

@eishiya It read weird, not matter how you cut it, lol.

Thanks though by EA i mean Early Acess.

Lol, EA on the brain. Still, why would be odd to have a good time with that game?

I also thought of Electronic Arts first, so maybe just say “early access” next time to avoid confusion. :relaxed:

… hmm unsure, free seems like a good discount  :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Anyway… what’s up with this game ?

https://store.steampowered.com/app/892970/Valheim/

It seems like it has exploded out of nowhere and i’ve seen over 360,000 players yesterday playing it at once. Seems like ridiculous number for a game like that.

And i’m sure i’ve seen few of the chronies playing it as well.

As someone who never been much into crafting and survival games i’m honestly surprised by this. Seems like another Fall Guys , simple indie game making huge waves.

Is it THAT good ? Or just a coincidence.
