Having been following the Microsoft buying up Activision deal for a while now this specific thing sounds precisely like the sort of thing that the FTC and Justice department is tasked to protect against when it comes to mergers and acquisitions.
Now the fun part of that aspect of these things is that mergers are never “approved” they’re merely not stopped and they can be retroactively meddled with should a sufficient reason be found. So this sounds a lot like someone ought to make an FTC complaint about.
