Unfortunately I was travelling during that time, hence why I don’t have it. Seems it’s effects reach beyond just the one game this time though.
also helps to see if/when a game removes it again
Yup, already a part of it. Unfortunately, the people there are a bit overzealous about the whole thing. At the end of the day… from a publisher’s standpoint, piracy steals your profits, and from a developer’s standpoint, pirates freeload on years of dedicated hard work, suffering, and commitment. I understand the need to protect games, but Denuvo isn’t the way and continuing to use Denuvo years after it’s been cracked or proven ineffective is absolutely the wrong way to go about your business.
My ideal view is that a game can have Denuvo or whatever-else DRM it wants, as long as it’s deactivated and/or removed a month or two after launch, cracked or not. I’d also love to see more GOG releases; from what I understand, Kingdom Come: Deliverance will get a GOG release in a few weeks, but it’s coming out today on Steam. That’s a perfect approach! Give your game an initial launch window of protection, then deactivate it and allow us to buy it on GOG or just Steam without third party DRM. In the meantime, if you want to make it always-online or anything else for launch, followed by a “re-launch” of sorts, you can bet I’ll check it out once I know my computer is safe. I use this thing for a lot more than gaming, and SecuROM has caused no shortage of grief in the past.
i agree a lot with your thoughts on protecting their income, and then remembering to disable useless/interfering junk -especially when cracked lol, since it just hurts legitimate customers then on
i joined it a while back for that nifty notification, it’s not something i use to completely bar a game from library entry,
but once the points was raised abut E.T. needing to secretly phone home, it did make me make think perhaps denuvo games were “owned” even less, thus at least a point on the minus column, as might potentially run into that issue “some day” of not being able to play a SP game… (because some suit and tie got stubborn and wouldn’t patch it out…)
(PS. think i already added Biomutant to my wishlist after an earlier post reminder of yours )
yes! cuz that was less than 2 months ago… couldn’t even finish the second level cuz some scripted event wouldn’t launch although it should have
which is exactly how i got it
but i dont feel like reinstalling it just for this promotion

ah, looks like everyone I know already have it. I guess it’s been given away previously.
Yeah they gave it out during Make Love Not War 3 or 4.Only things i could use on that leaked list is Company of Heroes 2 - Victory at Stalingrad Mission Pack, Alpha Protocol and Company of Heroes.
damn already own all games on that list + the CoH2 dlc,
only thing not owning is the warhammer dlc there… well guess my lack of excitement panned out.
Alpha Protocol is a fun little experience…flawed but definitely worth a play.
Still no confirmation email in my inbox or spam.
You guys probably confirmed long time ago for this event … the new input date of birth / mail thingy was for new users subscribing to sega web page. You could have went to the event site and just logged in instead @Enki
I bet you have the 2 classic games added to your sega classics as DLCs for sure.
I was about to remind everyone about my glowing recommendation of Alpha Protocol. They never gave that out for free, they just gave us some steep discounts. So… yeah. That’s worth getting. Preferably now.
just checked the MWNL “stats” to keep tracks, i must say it doesn’t immediately look good
17k hours played…
and to reach the 500k goal we “need” 20.8k hours “per hour”, so better hope for some big playtime spikes later, since we are about 50k away from the total average hourly needed playtime just to keep up…
I checked in at the first hour mark which was at a little over 2k hours played, so it’s still accelerating. Hard to draw any solid conclusions yet.
very true, and with their update progress -which is probably “a bit” delayed/behind, too their stat page is probably not telling the full/true story either, -it’s just a tad disconscerning to see it less than 1/3 of what it should be compared to the avg hourly rate “needed”
it’s probably gonna pick up way more later/in the afternoons i guess, -and hope
I’m idling Viking for an hour or so…then I reap the rewards (which I already have) or join everyone in failure.
wait what?
why would you idle a game that’s not on the feature list ?
Dawn of War 3, Company of Heroes 2, Total War Warhammer 2, Endless Space 2 -those are the 4 participating games, no?
surely Vikings doesn’t count towards the total just by being part of the prize bundle list…?
Because I have literally no idea what games I should be idling…it seems incredibly unclear to me, so I just went with the big picture at the top of the page. In which case I’ll idle a little DoW 3 and CoH 2 as well…
