This game… no Steam achievements yet, but it’s pretty cool. There are still some work to be done, hashing out bugs and probably redoing some balancing, etc. The game has a lot of potential though. I have been playing it a bit today, getting better, but slowly. Here’s me fumbling around for the first time, it’s not pretty (my playing) but the game is really pretty… The action is super smooth.
Wep that just ruins it for me. Cant believe i haven’t heard about that news until now. Of all the company out there, why does it have to be Tencent ? Just why ?
I’m playing Grim Dawn. The problem is, I don’t know how to save. I lost a bit of progress I made last night because I thought returning to the village would do it, but…apparently not. Oh well. That lost made me realize I had a class to actually select, so there’s that. lol
Technically there is no “saving” in aRPGs, you basically try to reach a checkpoint (in this case a riftgate portal) so you can instantly return to that place from the village checkpoint. Otherwise you just gotta backtrack to the point you left off. Everything respawns after you leave, so you can grind or farm the same areas over and over if you wish to. And there’s the personal riftgate that you can use via [L] key to quickly return to town.
If you have questions, feel free to ask, I’m sure anyone here will answer. It’s been a while since I last played, so I might forget some stuff.
Oh! So do I just need to get near a riftgate to save, or do I have to use them to save?
And thanks Enki, that’d be helpful. I’ll keep it in mind! I do like the game so far, just wish it explained a bit more of it to you rather than throw you in and hope you learn how to swim. xD
EDIT
I ain’t liking the transmogging locked behind a $18 DLC. No no no. I don’t like that at all.
They’re way points, not save points. As Enki said there’s no saving as you would traditionally consider it. You save when you exit the game, but the only thing that is saved is the state of your character, quest progress and way points unlocked. Most things you’ve done out in the world is reset upon returning, the rifts are there so that you can skip earlier areas.
Yeah, it’s a bit of shame, but if you play the game enough to reach the point you get to see the cool looking stuff, you’d probably want to invest in the DLCs to get more content out of it. I only have Ashes of Malmouth so far, but would’ve gotten Forgotten Gods already if the only thing impeding me from playing more wasn’t my poopy PC that doesn’t run the game properly. Can’t wait to play on a steady 60 fps and do justice to the game.
At least you get a smol discount from buying the bundle after already owning the base game. And I believe you only need Ashes of Malmouth for the transmogs.
@Pylinaer and I played some Payday 2 today, first time for me. I might put a few more hours into that one at some point. Figured I’d see if anyone else might be interested in joining up with us whenever we might do so again.
I’ve been playing a lot of Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter Rise on Switch (which is really painful so I’ve been thinking about selling my Switch copy for a PC version lol). I’ve been trying to make more room to play Monster Hunter Stories 2, but considering its more RPG and less about “limited time” events and player base, I’ve been putting it off. I think the next game I add to my schedule will be Crystal Chronicles again. Hopefully they haven’t completely abandoned it yet, and will continue to add performance netcode changes…
I played all of the betas, including the last one. To be honest…I didn’t like it. It felt like a PvP game that desperately threw in resource management to capture non PvPers. The combat is also not very satisfyingly. You can literally just side-step out of the way, or roll back, because the enemies have 2 attacks. A single close and a wide swing. They are also very, very slow, so you only have to worry if you’re just standing there. That said, the player side of skill use is pretty interesting. It’s nothing like Black Desert, but it’s okay.
When I played the last beta, which was I think two weeks before release, it also had very bad performance problems and a ton–a TON–of bugs. I don’t know how they could have resolved it all in two weeks, but I suppose they could have. Just thought that was worth noting, though.
Upper Echelon Games released his full review of the game today, the only review I am aware of by someone who actually played through and spent significant time with the game before sharing their opinions on it. I have not watched it myself yet though but it should be a good source to figure out if you’ll want to get into the game or not.
I’ve been playing League of Legends: Wild Rift. I know. I know. But it really is legit fun. I don’t know why. Something about chasing down other Champions and figuring out how to kill them without dying (and being sent to dead plane for 60 seconds) is thrilling. Especially when you’re fighting against 2-3 enemy Champs and SOMEHOW you manage to survive AND kill them. It’s just so much fun. xD
I want to take screenshots, but for some reason, my phone won’t allow it while in this game. I wonder if they disabled it…
Anyhow, I’m in love with it. I definitely want to buy the Arcane skin for Jinx when I can, because she and Ashe are WAY too fun and I adore them. <3
The game is fantastic, a tightly controlled precision platformer that can really challenge you. The amount of difficulty and content you can go for is up to you as well, you can just go through the main storyline which is difficult enough, you can opt to go for berries which adds difficulty, you can go b sides which are even more difficult screens using main level mechanics, and beyond that you can go for the stuff I haven’t done yet (c sides which ramp difficulty again, chapter 9 which is supposed to be harder than those and golden berries which you have to go though levels without dying once).
I think for now I may take a break and go c sides and chapter 9 later.
I don’t have much to gripe about with this game, it can frustrate you but generally you know mistakes are your fault so you have no one else to blame and eventually you get though it. The only thing I will complain about is clouds, Its hard to explain here but if you play the game you will understand, they can go get themselves tapped in a black hole, they had me stuck for ages in quite a few parts. Still overall its a rewarding and enjoyable experience and if you have it (which you might as its been given away for free by epic twice) I would recommend at least trying it and seeing if its for you.
I kicked some booty on Wild Rift today. I mean, I’m obviously not a pro, but it feels nice to get a triple kill on veterans. It means I’m learning. I found out that Lux is legit fun to play, not as much as Jinx and Brand, but still pretty fun. A bit less fun than Ashe, but I like her light animations a lot. <3
I wish main LoL was as simplified as Wild Rift. It doesn’t make it an easier game, it just makes it engineered better. xD
Been playing Sekiro mostly. Hardly breaking news but game is absolutely amazing.
Combat is absolutely top notch and it is less difficult than some people make it out to be.
All the Japanese history mixed with lore is super interesting and game is such a treat to play in general. It does ofc as all fromsoft’s games require thick hide to soldier on through some of the areas and bosses.
I think Sekiro is going to push out OG Dark Souls from second place in my “soulsekiroborn” list , lol.
