From humbles email to me:
" The Platinum Edition gives you an upgrade if you already have the base pack, so you’ll also get six DLC packs, as well as Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions"
Not enough for me to drop everything and buy it, but definitely better.
The gay visual novel is very good! Too bad I already completed it on Epic, because other than that, this bundle is a big i dunno. Maybe it’s finally time to learn how to play Civilization.
I’m not a subscriber but I managed to get Nimbatus (I had it on my WL), ADOM, and SWINE HD, Swine is an RTS so of course, I’m interested, and ADOM looks interesting, overall I like this lineup
I played Paradise Killer earlier this year and really enjoyed it. It’s mostly a visual novel who-dunnit mystery in a 3d world with light platforming and secrets to find.
Glad to see another Yakuza game showing up as a Humble Choice option, though I’m a bit bummed about it since I had already bought the Yakuza Remastered Collection bundle (ie. Yakuza 3, 4, 5) when it came out earlier this year. I wonder how long it’ll take them to get to 4-7.
Not familiar with any of the other games besides The Surge 2 (still haven’t played the first one, plus saw it recently in Fanatical’s July bundle), Dirt 5, and Kill It With Fire. I’ll take a look at them later.
Dirt 5 is fun, but very, very arcade-y. Motorstorm, I’d say, is the game this comes closest to. It rly feels like the Dirt series has been going through a real identity crisis (except for Dirt Rally 1.0 and 2.0, the unexpected success of which probably was partly responsible for this, confusing the suits at Codemasters) in at least its last 3 iterations, where every game is completely different and hence it’s no surprise that the series is more or less dying.
So it’s okay-ish fun, nothing crazy, very arcade-y (too much imo), too ez too (i have to play on very hard cuz otherwise i end up racing by myself with no one else in sight), rubbish physics (the limits of the tracks just kinda suck on you and slow u down or sometimes bounce u almost backwards; it’s seems there’s no crash physics either as when cars hit each other it feels like huge trucks hit each other, meaning nothing much happens at all, like they’re so heavy it all just cancels each other out.) There’s also no real apparent skill differential in driving the cars. Most drive more or less the same. Some are just weird.
and though i felt like the online races might have saved this game, there is no online whatsoever; at least not for me. So far i haven’t succeeded in finding a single server, it always errors out, but while googling for this i’ve found that even those ppl who do get connected to a server usually end up racing 1 other player, 1 though there was one guy who said he once got matched up with 5 others
the “career” mode is just a bunch of random races thrown together and I hope Nolan North and Troy Baker got good money for what undoubtedly must have been a cringe fest even during the voice “acting” (just reading the silly lines, trying to get through the cringe while remaining professional and fulfilling the contract) which is pretty nonsensical too and doesn’t rly add much at all to the game. But i guess Codemasters thought they’d sell extra copies just by having these two amazing voice actors on the credits or something.
