I’m going to buy an Xbox one Next week and was wondering if you knew non-mainstream games that’s worth picking up that is not available on pc.
so far on my list contain
RDRD2 because that’s the reason i’m getting a console (i still dont understand console exclu but hey, it must work since im buying a less powerfull and more expensive pc)
2.Forza horizon 4
I don‘t own a Xbox One and it is considerably mainstream, but I‘d give Gears Of War a shot. I have played the first three religiously, multiple times and a lot online. As far as I know the first three games have been remastered plus there‘s the 4th one, too.
Xbone is odd in that it doesn’t really have any exclusives other than Gears and Halo. Most of the interesting exclusives like D4 and Killer Instinct have since appeared on PC.
If your main PC is a bit weaker you might want to use your Xbox for slightly more demanding titles that you haven’t been able to play?
The OG Xbox backwards compatibility might be neat too.
SSX3, Gears of War 1UE, Gears of War 2-4 (5 hype!), Halo MCC (original graphics only), Kingdom Hearts III, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, and Crackdown. That’s my list of essentials.
There’s also pretty much every backwards compatible game you ever wanted to try that isn’t on PC.
@DownwardConcept While only 1 got a remaster, Gears of War 2 and 3 are available via backwards compatibility with X Enhancements.
As much as I love my VHSerrr… XOne, I wouldn’t recommend buying it for the exclusives, especially considering more and more of those are getting released on PC as well, like Horizon 4 (provided that you have windows 10 of course :P).
If I were to recommend something, it would be the Game Pass and to a much less extent the Gold subscription services, they are both $10 a month, but you can get a free trial of both, Game Pass will give you 14 days of pretty much free play.
And please pardon me for sounding like a paid ad, but…
With Game Pass you can pick any game and play it as if you owned it, for as long as you are subscribed, this includes every Gears of Wars, all Halo games, and Forza 4
You can check the whole list here but at first glance, some of the games on there are
Abzû
Bayonetta
Brothers
D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die
Dandara
Darksiders I & II both remastered editions
Dead Rising 2
Deadlight
DOOM
Hitman™ (all the episodes are there)
Hydro Thunder
Metro 2033 & Last Light Redux
Ruiner
Sunset Overdrive
This War of mine
Wasteland 2
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Some of these change each month, but games like the Halo and Gears ones have been there since the beginning, I think both SSX and Skate 3 used to be there for example.
For the Gold service, they give you a 360 and an XOne game every 15 days, and they let you play online of course , the 360 games you can play them anytime you want, they are yours to keep, but the XOne ones, you’ll have to be gold to keep on playing them, you can interrupt your subscription thou, but that’s it.
buy it on pc and play with me please pretty please i need more people to play raids with please
(if you wouldnt play in the Europe region just ignore what i said)
i havent heard from it so thanks for bringing it up
after a quick glance it doesnt look promising at all, i mean they say maybe could possibly work in a few years (the one article i actually read) so i still endorse the purchase being made on the platform i am also playing on that is PC
(is my enflish correct, i really tried hard on that sentence(is it even fancy language at all?))
Hey, I’ll give you my 2 cents. Don’t buy an Xbox, buy a PS4 instead, if you must. There’s much better exclusives over there. And if you want to play Red Dead Redemption 2, just wait for the PC port. It will come, eventually.
Long time Xbox owner, btw.
Also i already have a ps4, i get a XB1 only to play with my friend who still haven’t found lord Insert_name_of_Current_PS_CEO
@anyamtikja add me on Bnet, i’m down for some raid (already had the game) BelleGueule#1699
@Inferry i might just do that, that’s what im doing with my P4, i just get the monthly games and play the rest on pc
a master race cannot deny the nice comfort of couch gaming with native control, but will always know that for performance and quality, pc is the way to go
State of Decay 2 is a good zombie survival game, if a bit on the repetitive side. Sea of Thieves is also quite good, a co-op pirate sandbox that is persistently getting content updates and doesn’t hold your hand outside of some basic excuses to get you out on the ocean.
A good recommendation I can do is to search for one with a 1Tb drive, I have a 500Gb one and although I have a good amount of games in there, I often find myself deciding what should I delete in order to install new stuff if only for the time being.
I don’t think it’s going to matter too much, I have 6.5TB in my computer and I’m also constantly juggling what steam games to keep and not. Might just take a little longer before you reach that point. : )
