Hey everyone, so I recently downloaded a couple of emulators so i could play some classic mario kart games. It got me thinking of this topic. “Favourite Classic Video Games.” Heres a list of my favourite video games I’d consider classic, or are classics. (It really all depends on your age and how long you’ve been playing video games for) I’d say let’s keep the games to at least before 2010

  • Driver 3
  • Pac Man
  • Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga

  • The Elder Scrolls Oblivion
  • Castle Crashers
  • Star Wars Battlefront II (2005)
  • Saints Row 2
  • The Spongebob Squarepants Movie

Well I have to add some from different genres to not be that boring so here it goes:
FPS: Quake 1
RTS: Red Alert 2 and Age of Empires 1
Adventure: Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver
Quest: Monkey Island 3 - The curse of monkey island
Fighters: Mortal Kombat 3 and Samurai Shodown 4
Brawlers: Golden Axe 3

and I probably forget tons more :slight_smile:

is Need for Speed Most Wanted a classis? that is a good one oh and i enjoyed carbon very much

If we’re going by “classic” classics, here’s my list:

  2. The Legend of Zelda II (Zelda II)
  3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  4. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
  5. Secret of Mana
  6. Secret of Evermore
  7. Chrono Trigger (DUH)
  8. Zombies Ate My Neighbors
  9. Super Mario Bros. 3
  10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989)
  11. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade)
  12. Super Mario World
  13. SimCity (still a great if you ask me)

If I can be a bit more…liberal with the term, I’d add these to the list:

I admit I cheated off the original OP but I was completely blanking and I looked to get some ideas and it turned into ‘Oh yeah definitely gotta include that one’ and ‘Wow how did I forget this one?’ and before I knew it I had copied a lot of it haha. You have very refined taste my friend if I do say so myself!
Oh also Mario Kart double dash! It’s my favorite in the series and I don’t care how much hate it gets :laughing:

Maybe not classics per sey but they are to me:

They are all for psx except Supaplex and Advanced Wars

Final Fantasy Tactics
Supaplex for DOS
Final Fantasy 8 and 9 in no particular order
Advanced Wars
Resident Evil 2
Parasite Eve 2
Driver

edit/ I said Supaplex for DOS that is also for Amiga and not technically a console but you can emulate the amiga with ease.

Ratchet & Clank 3
And if Oblivion is considered a classic then yeah, Oblivion.

I may as well list some of the classics I enjoyed.

  • Kirby’s Adventure, the game that got me into gaming, and the first game I ever fully beat.
  • Super Mario Bros 1, 2, and 3 (I probably enjoyed 2 the most (it is game of the year, after all :wink:))
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Punch Out
  • The Legend Of Zelda
  • Sonic CD
  • Double Dragon (I forget which one it was, though it might have been the second one)

I would have mentioned it, but I haven’t played any Smash game earlier than Brawl, and I don’t feel that Brawl is old enough to be considered classic yet.
