First post, don’t deny it.Everyone has a favorite gaming youtuber, so I want to know! So I can check em out, if that’s cool with you, no weird answers plz.So tell me your favorite gaming/game critic youtuber out of the many that already exsist.
Probably either Caddicarus (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOkL7q2SeGZeZuj22njMYEA) or LazyGameReviews (https://www.youtube.com/user/phreakindee)
You know for some reason I thought he’d be a rare answer because he doesn’t get the attention he works so hard for, I love Caddicarus! And Thanks I’ll check LazyGameReviews out! (I replied because it peaked my interest that Caddicarus would be mention IDK why!)
I’m admittedly much more aware of and biased towards our partners but here are a few that I enjoy.
TB ( https://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut )
I don’t always agree with his priorities in what he looks for in a game but I appreciate the passion and he has a nice variety of videos.
Scott Manley ( https://www.youtube.com/user/szyzyg )
He’s mostly focused on space stuff, but if you’re into that he offers a lot of cool science along with his gaming content.
Hot Pepper Gaming ( https://www.youtube.com/user/HotPepperGaming )
Not super in depth but just entertaining to watch
and then like @TrogledyWretched I really enjoy Caddy’s content. He’s got a great attitude and energy in the stuff he creates.
thanks I really benefit from replies!
Seconded on LGR! The depth of the classic PC nerdery is rare to find. Also check out Brutalmoose.
I usually watch those 3
TB (link posted earlier)
Great first impressions.
Azralynn ( https://www.youtube.com/user/Azralynn )
She makes quick, informative and organized reviews about new games. I enjoyed the fact she completes all the games unless it’s a 1st impression.
ACG ( https://www.youtube.com/user/AngryCentaurGaming )
The most complete reviews available, he covers everything from sound, voices, graphics…
I may be late, but…
Personally, I would have mentioned LGR, but clearly he’s far from obscure. Good to hear honestly, he runs a great channel and seeing him get the attention he deserves is awesome!
That said, there are a few others I’ve been watching a lot recently:
JERMGaming (or, alternatively, the rest of the Casual Shenanigans Podcast) are great. I’ve found JERM’s technical dives very interesting with his Potato Masher project, and the podcast (out of date as I may be) has always been great. The other people on his podcast are also great, especially EvilViking, but JERM was the first of the channels I ran into and also my favorite.
Parallax Abstraction is also great at what he does, sort of like TotalBiscuit if I had to describe him very briefly… if TB also did a few LPs no and then. He covers a lot of great titles through both full LPs and first impressions, and his content ranges from audio-only podcasts to entire playthroughs. Funny that LGR was mentioned already, since Jerry (P.A.) actually just got a bit of a shout-out during one of LGR’s unboxing clips.
The Super Best Friends are also worth a look. There’s a few in-jokes that occasionally throw off new viewers, but otherwise they’re just a great channel. Well, they were, at least… then Cage turned them on each other. Four entered, three left, and the world was never the same. (their full Omikron LP was a sight to behold for all the wrong reasons)
Might as well add RUSHNERD while I’m editing to add more links. He has two main series, x in a Nutshell and Great Moments in Gaming; the former usually supercuts major ‘events’ in a satirical fashion while the latter is a compilation of mistakes and fails in a specific release.
Quill18 is also great for his strategy game longplays, but the real star of his show is his excellent development tutorials on his second channel, quill18creates.
There’s a ton I’m probably leaving out, but oh well.
Northernlion is pretty much the only gamer I watch. Other than that I watch critics and stuff all about videogame design like Mark Brown and such.
Don’t worry on being late, this discussion will hopefully be active for a while! Thanks for your reply!
My personal favorites right now are Jim Sterling and TotalBiscut. Although I will say that Jim has a particular style that not everyone will enjoy, though he does feature some interesting characters (ie THE CORNFLAKE HOMUNCULUS)
I’m a huge fan of the Giant Bomb crew. Pretty much anything they do I enjoy, and the amount of hours of entertainment they’ve given me is astounding.
Other folks I love are TotalBiscuit (of course), the McElroy brothers (Justin and Griffin primarily since they are in the games press), the Idle Thumbs/Campo Santo dudes, InexpensiveGamer, and Chief Pat (for my Clash Royale addiction).
My favourite, that I’d chose to speak about would be Joseph Anderson. He doesn’t post very often but whenever he does it’s always a treat.
He focuses on very indepth criticism and makes very long videos where he looks at games from angles most others do not. He is a fantasy and sci-fi writer himself and I find his insight into writing of stories and characters interesting.
Put an hour or two aside some time and go look into him, I’m confident you won’t regret it.
SomeCallMeJohnny is my go to man for getting a really entertaining honest opinion of a game. Dude is straight up the best.
