Yesterday was the official release of Enter The Gungeon. I preordered it, so I started playing yesterday and thought a thread would be awesome to discuss new discoveries, weapons and items.
I only got the fourth boss so far, but unlocked some stuff. I like the little quests you can discover that will unlock shops and such in the breach.
The best gun I’ve gotten so far was the hexagun. Precise 'n deadly, just how I like my guns!
What about you? have you bought the game yet? How far have you gotten so far?
I purchased it yesterday while half-asleep, haven’t had the chance to play it yet but I think I might be able to try it out later tonight. From what I’ve seen so far it looks like it could be a very enjoyable game for most rogue-lite fans.
I checked my achievements recently and I must have been tripping, it was just the third one I was at! Sorry! And I got 13 hours in two days, so I played a little already.
I am playing the Pilot. I kinda wanna stick with him until I finish the game and then switch to another.
What’s your favorite of the bunch?
Really? You can call for ammo drops, but I would have thought that the convict or the hunter are easier. Their default weapons are pretty decent. Some of them I got in chests and kept them because everything is more useful than the Pilot’s stupid pewpew laser pistol.
The pilot is pretty cool because he gets 8000 blanks to start with. The marine is helpful for noobs like me because of the extra aim assist that it gives. I’ve only played a few hrs though compared to these nerds playing 300. @EMCL literally has over 300 hrs in it.
300? Steam profile NAO! Or just post a screenshot.
As I said I haven’t played any other character yet, so the Pilot is the only one that starts with blanks? I barely use them anyway. Still need to time them right and git gud at dodge rolling.
I’m not a great source of info so this may be wrong, but I believe that most characters start with 2 and the pilot starts with 8 or something. The marine starts with a bonus armor and has improved aim assist I think.
I always started with two blanks when playing the pilot. His deal is getting discounts at the shop (because of his looks of course!) and having a hair pin that can open chest by chance. That’s all I know. Haven’t paid much attention to their default inventory.
Is there by any chance a character starting with two keys? I need to conquer the oubliette
I have no idea then. I’m a derp. I swear I started my games with him with a ton of blanks. I wonder if it was an item or something else that affected that.
Ah, I know what you mean! When you’re asked to shake/roll bones or sth? Last time I did that it took all my blanks and made me faster than sonic. I couldn’t handle the speed
I have to revive this thread! I’m 124 hours in now and I loved every second of it so far. The game keeps suprising me. The sense of exploration (as long as you don’t spoil it by reading about items on the wiki) is something I haven’t had in games for a long time.
Anyway… For those who played (the usual markdown spoiler tags don’t work, so stop reading if you haven’t played the game!)
Has anyone beaten the Lich yet?! That 6th floor is insane.
I myself am at 30 hours, I’ve pretty much dropped the game recently. It was very enjoyable while it lasted but it got a bit too repetetive for me and the fact that I couldn’t get past third floor probably doesn’t help with that feeling.
30 hours is definitely enough to have a solid opinion on whether you like the game or not, but as a fanboy I still feel like I need to convince you otherwise.
I think I’ve beaten the dragon (5th chamber) at around 50-60 hours, at around 100 hours my skill wasn’t depending on items anymore and now at 152 hours played I flawless most first bosses with the default gun.
It takes a lot of time, man. It’s been like this with all rogue-likes I’ve played.
