And that’s why you only navigate the seven seas on safe waters.

Problem with those type of “unsafe waters” is that you can never tell if the ripples are just the residual wake of other boats or signs of an incoming storm.

damn, must be a very, very, very slow news day if this makes it to the news…

I believe plenty of other cats were carried to or away from plenty of other things all over the world today, something the journalist apparently decided not to mention, for some reason … :man_shrugging: … perhaps there is more to this story after all; perhaps there is a catspiracy at paw

this news story rly is completely nuts though, would love to see that video (there is a video apparently):

there’s some pics here though:

awesome more gas price hikes. As if it wasn’t expensive enough already.

Doesn’t the declaration of emergency mean prices can’t be increased as that would be considered gouging during an emergency. I guess the prices can go up in surrounding states that doesn’t have the emergency declared though.

doesn’t really look like it. Just some exemptions from a few regulations. There could be something about price gouging, but I think competition will keep that in check. Plus they can get a lawsuit up the rear if they try and people notice. I think competition will be main thing though.

What’s likely to happen is that gas prices across the board jump 10-15 cents a gallon as fuel is rerouted to the affected states. In short decreasing the supply everywhere.

It never stops to amaze me that the most technologically advance country in the world still uses technical and social payment protocols which were outdated/deprecated in third world countries 15/30 years ago.

Ah yes, because obesity isn’t a problem too. And the worst is that this isn’t the only case I saw, there’s a bunch of other offers of free unhealthy food being given away for those who got vaccinated, what is going on there? Is this truly the best way to convince anti-vaccine people and Americans in general?

Meanwhile everyone else are rationing vaccines and having to be selective about who gets it at all. Maybe if Americans don’t want it the rest of us could have a larger share, thanks.

I could go for a burger too.

We have a substantial amount of the population that is either unsure about or not interested in getting the vaccine. Anything that gets people to get the vaccine is good.

I would be okay with us sending over Pfizer/Moderna vaccines and switch to giving out J&J midsummer or something. Pretty much a either you can get this one now or get the J&J later.

Thing is though, I don’t think it would work out well. Even sending over unused doses would result in stupid politicization of the act.
