how r they not french games if they are made by french studios?
i guess u mean that the games’ language isnt french, but that wasn’t the statement i was denying; u said not many games are made by the french
Well lets look at their recent launch line up why don’t we and lets see if we can’t figure out what I might possibly mean by a game not being French, shall we?
Assassin’s creed Origins. Ancient egypt and whatever parts of modern age setting is still left is based in the US I believe.
For honor. Setting is a bit of a mess but lets call it 3 distinct influences, japan, scandinavia and generic european middle age? Not even the european knights are french in design, more English or German.
Mario + rabids… nevermind.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. South america? Mostly american characters.
Far cry primal, ok maybe they’re french.
The division, New York, US.
Watch Dogs San Francisco, US.
I don’t want to keep going so why don’t you point out any game Ubisoft has made that you feel is particularly french.
Most of these games are also not made in France, they’re made by Ubisoft Montreal. So they’re canadian games. Massive Entertainment is in Sweden, they have a ubisoft quebec as well. Just because the main company head quarter sits in France doesn’t make the products french.
The statement I was rebutting:
I was specifically talking about that statement; that you meant something else is on you bud
it’s also no big deal btw
Please do read the entirety of my post.
I get yr point; it’s valid. I was merely indicating that that specific statement was incorrect is all.
What u said:
Luckily not a lot of games made by the french.
What u meant and should have said:
Luckily, not a lot of games are placed in a French setting.
It isn’t though.
To restate that part of my point. These games are not made by french people in France. The closest you’re getting is “french lite” people in Canada.
The best possibly example of an actual french game made by french people you could have brought up would be the Syberia series. Ubisoft is not.
So I maintain that “Luckily not a lot of games made by the french.”
y i guess you would be right dude, were it not for these 200 games made in France:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Video_games_developed_in_France
also, u seem to forget that ubisoft have 3 or 4 studios in france itself
like srsly, almost all assassin’s creed games were made in france, ghost recon games, wrc games, splinter cell games, rayman games, the division, south park, just dance games, cod world at war, bioshock 2, dishonored 1+2, prey, and the list goes on and on

Yeah 200 games is not an awful lot, and these wiki category lists are not hugely accurate anyway, mind dropping this shit now? Or take move it to private if you want to keep bickering. We’re ruining this thread.
I will not continue to respond to you here. Leave it.
most of these aren’t even in the 200 games listed, but they were made in france, mind u, and I’m merely stating facts, I’m not trying to bicker at all.
Not Qualified to Enter but wanted to add onto this.
Back when I used to play Star Wars: The Old Republic, the voice acting was what stood out the most. There was one portion if you played as a smuggler if you decided to pursue a relationship with Corso Riggs. I actually have this clip saved because when I feel down, I know this man is waiting for me.
EDIT: Just listened to this again. I’m not crying, you’re crying!
I really enjoyed the voice acting in Amnesia the Dark Decent. It makes up for some of what the game lacks in other content. The Stanley Parable has good voice acting too.
I’ve been into point and click games for a couple of weeks now and I would love to enter for a chance to win Day of the Tentacle Remastered. Thanks for the opportunity.
Sorry to answer even not being qualified to participate, but yes, and it was Sniper Ghost Warrior. The actor who gives voice to Razor Six Four has the most manly and delicious voice I’ve ever heard. <3 And, funny enough, I played the entire game just to hear his voice. xD
I can name a couple games that I’ve enjoyed a great deal because of the voice acting:
Hellblade: Senua’s sacrifice - Nicholas Boulton performing as Druth. Cover your eyes and listen.
Hand of fate - Anthony Skordi as the dealer.
Not entering, thanks.
@marriemiller beautiful portrait, nicely done. It’s your work?
Back in 2000, my husband had a arcade space bullet hell shooter type game. I can’t remember the name; it had “Crusaders” and Space" in the title. It had a voice that made me want to claw my eyes out and felt like blood was going to come spouting from my ears. I used to just cringe when that awful voice said…" Move over, Bill Gates, I am going to become a millionaire."
P.S. Now that I have asked him the name of the game, he wants to find it on one of his HDD and reinstall it…Some one, please, just shoot me.
CLOSING SOON
Please make sure, that if you are entering, to name the titles, you wish to receive if you win.
2 Hours Left.
Another great giveaway guys! Great work!
The best voice acting for me (maybe 'cuz a bit of nostalgia too) is for sure Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver / Defiance series, Blood Omen 2 wasn’t so bad, but not getting even close to SR (in gameplay and story too).
Great videos even for those not familiar with the games

The next one is the biggest spoiler one can give to the series, so for anyone interested of playing this, DO NOT WATCH! It’s worth adding here because for me is the pinnacle of voice acting and script writing
I would love a chance for Wasted and thanks guys!
