none of this stuff is really enticing me to get Win11 even if it would work on my machine.
I also won’t install it at launch. I think I’ll wait until January or Febraury 2022 to do so.
UGH!
Does Windowsfx cut out all the spyware and adware baked into Windows as well? Or did they leave it in a more “authentic” experience?
(I’m assuming since it’s a Linux build most of that is gone, but you never know.)
Yes, since it’s a Linux distro. It has a free but limited version and an unlimited version which’s unlocked by a serial key.
It is looking really nice. I’ll have to see what performance is like in games before I commit. I majorly only have Windows for gaming, after all. I do like the UI though. Hmm.
Me too. I only game in Windows 10 while in the Linux side I read and write, since Microsoft’s OS has too many distractions to me.
And here’s a few recent videos I found regarding gaming in Windows 11:
What the hell. I’ll do it as soon as it’s passed to my sister. The worst case scenario is that Windows 11 is a pile of garbage and I can’t revert back to Windows 10, leaving me on Linux forever. The good news…Linux now has anti-cheat for games so online games do be workin’. lol
Then you may want to consider Windowsfx which’s a few posts above this one.
They have a free but limited license and a paid and unlimited one which you unlock through a serial key.
Well, I’m not looking for just the UI. I need it for games, applications etc. If I can’t run my games, then it’s not really useful to me. I could just continue to use Manjaro or Kubuntu.
I see. If Windows 11 is that good for games as MS claim it to be then It’s surely gonna be worth the upgrade. However I don’t wanna do so right away, and I’ll wait for the reviews.
October 5th is coming close so let’s see what happens. I bet it’ll arrive chock full on bugs like Windows 10 did back in 2015.
I’ve seen some videos of its performance. In very old games, it performs a little worse by like 5 fps, but that’s to be expected on a new OS. I’m sure with time, it’ll get better. Especially with actual GPU driver support. I’m honestly only interested in the app support, the cleaner UI and new terminals (linux style <3). If Windows 11 hadn’t announced any of this, I would stay with Windows 10 + Kubuntu. xD
Sounds good, and it seems that this new OS will be more than just a makeup.
In my case, I also liked from the new UI and the support for Android apps, which’ll thankfully retire stuff like Bluestacks and Nox, eliminating the necessity to turn off Windows ’ VM support.
Windows 10 will still be supported until 2025, so we have plenty of time before MS forces us to switch to Windows 11.
