If you watch the video…it can come off kinda weird. A whole bunch of guys, at night, keep a woman from leaving so another guy can sing to her but then it gets adorable I guess lol one moment she joins a group of girls and they’re laughing over M.J and his gang’s displays of affections. :blush: then the hug at the end sorta insinuates they’re already together and he’s just trying to win her back and or tell her how much she means to him.

Okay, so I’ve been thinking of Fullmetal Alchemist since I discussed it, so I started it up again because, honestly, it is one of the best animes out there with a thought out “magic” system and plot line. I watched 3 episodes before going to Brotherhood to compare, and

Spoilers discussing more about why I prefer 2003 vs Brotherhood

I just can’t get over the fact that they changed the iconic introduction of Equivalent Exchange for the Brothers. It makes a bigger impact for the audience to see what we’re shown in the 2003 version than the Brotherhood opening of a rather eh battle and a “oh, we’re getting that really cool, powerful dude” and a cheapened explanation of the Law of Equivalent Exchange through a common thug. However, in v2003, you’re immediately brought to the emotional turmoil of the brothers in the 2003 version and immediately brought to understand the dangers of alchemy and Equivalent Exchange, so getting to know why they did it, how they messed up and the Laws is vastly more interesting.

Also, they just way overused the height joke in too short of a time. :sweat: however, v2003 ending = depressing and unfinished product that leaves the viewer unsatisfied. Brotherhood ending = good.

Also, I decided to maybe…maybe…give Vinland anime a try, after Fullmetal Alchemist. Because by the end of the day, I just love Vikings/Scandinavians too much. :joy:

decided to dig into this as it was on the list anyway, but man, it’s such a shame it’s held back by such awful writing and plot, instead of just focusing on the cute comedy character interaction instead.
i get the feel this would have been much better of as either a slice of life style, or more heavy on the rom com harry potterness, instead of trying to go all “serious” isekai. :confused:
Well, maybe the other seasons progress a bit better :crossed_fingers:

It was 10 years since I saw Zero no Tsukaima now and while I enjoyed it enough to watch the whole 4 seasons it wasn’t top tier stuff even back then. It does lean more into the romcom stuff going forward as far as I recall.

It’s interesting thinking back on it though, at the time isekai wasn’t really a genre of it’s own yet. Wouldn’t want to say it’s the first but it might have been a little ahead of it’s time in that regard.

I just finished「Happy Sugar Life」yesterday. There’s two things the Japanese do rather well, cutesy stuff and the aberrant. So when they strive to combine these two qualities you often times get something quite impactful. Unfortunately this time it fell a little short for me. Every single character in this series is just horribly broken and I feel like what could have been an intriguing story gets a little off track by reveling in the utter madness of it’s characters instead.

Oh my god! I just found out Veronica Mars has a new season! On Hulu! I have to watch it! I loved the original show to death! :blush: :blush:

Well yea, the plot is pretty weak. You’re supposed to be in it for the comedy and I guess the romance. :joy: the fun thing I always thought about the series, even though it wasn’t Hunter x Hunter quality or something, is that it was just fun. It didn’t have to be amazing to have “flavor”, because despite it it still had its charms. The comedy, the interactions between the two main characters and maybe not to others, but I enjoyed the art as it went on.

They do…and they don’t, in a way. I won’t spoil it for you, but I honestly think the show is worth watching. I personally have seen it about 3 times. :sweat_smile:

It’s just straight up garbage all the way through. It’s a shame since it’s my favorite VA, Kugimiya Rie. Unfortunately she haven’t had many good roles.
She also does the voice for Alphonse in FMA btw.

So far, Veronica Mars still feels mostly the same. That’s a huge surprise given that most shows that return after a long hiatus usually change so drastically that they do not even feel like the same show anymore.

Heh if you enjoyed it then good for you, everyone has different tastes. :wink: I was just extremely disappointed back when I saw it mostly because I watched it right after Toradora. It’s my favorite anime of all time so obviously I looked for more like it… Louise may look and sound like Taiga but she’s nothing like her.

made it to episode 8 so far, and this is just hilarious, i love the humour in it
and the recent double sided episodes, where it’s half rib tickles and the other half has been onion cutting, was just a brilliant roller coaster swap with the different chars
really enjoyable show all around, not a single bad episode for me yet :+1:

Okay, even after all these years, I’m still very much in love with Majora’s Mask’s mystical music. Particularly Stone Temple. It still sends weird chills through me.

Koji Kondo is a genius, and he made such amazing, unforgettable songs on systems that restricted his ability so thoroughly. That’s how you can tell a great composer apart from the rest.

Crap. I did it. Now I want to play Majora’s Mask!

I’ve been playing it and Ocarina of Time (and many other titles in the series) since I was a child. I live and breathe The Legend of Zelda. haha so yep, I know how to beat the game. :blush:

(the game also freaked me out as a kid whenever the moon got close :sweat_smile: )

I need to go back and actually beat OoT. And Majora’s Mask. Both of which I have on 3DS.

I also have Twilight Princess and maybe Wind Waker for GameCube… But no system to play it on (got the controllers though)

The Game Cube was the funniest thing when I first saw one, ha ha. Mega cute console though. Majora’s Mask though - felt like I never made any progress before the rewind.
