What are you reading, watching and/or listening to?

I’m listening to remixes of FFVI songs right now. The last few up to the current.

Some grade A choices there. They’re all in my collection and I frequently listen to them. Dirt Devil by Zircon is such a great track, I really love the hammer sounds used through it and anything with Terra’s theme is almost always beautiful.

I also like the hammer sounds, and I agree for the Terra themes! It is my favorite song to listen to already, but there are so many amazing remixes and interpretations of it out there that are breath taking. Death on the Snowfield is one of them (astounding how AmIEvil put it together).

(by the great Jeremy Soule!)

(piano version is still the most stunning variation of Terra’s theme though to me)

Well! Anyways, some other Remixes I have since started up while I work!

(I HIGHLY recommend listening to Theophany’s Majora’s Mask album!)

And trying NOT to binge watch OitNB and Goliath to savour the episodes…

I just finished watching Black Hawk Down (lost count of how many times I have watched it). Everything about this movie is amazing and powerful, and nerve racking. It still isn’t as stressful as watching Saving Private Ryan, of course, but it is definitely one of the best movies I have ever watched, especially for a war movie.

I’m going to start another one of my favorites next. Byzantium. There is just something about this movie that I’m drawn to. I don’t know if it is the tone, the directing, the script, the acting or the strange new takes on a very over done genre, but whatever the reason…very glad I sat down and watched it a long time ago.

I have boxes of promotional CDs from the 90s, mostly rock bands that never made it big. Every so often, I listen to one.

McQueen Street was an 80s rock band that was signed in 1990. Their debut album, titled “McQueen Street”, released in 1991—a few years late to the party. If you like 80s rock, check it out.

Almost had me fall asleep on the way to work… but it’s pretty good.

Some people might have insomnia and could benefit from sedating music too!

Yeah it’s definitely pleasant if it works for you, it usually doesn’t for me.
I barely sleep nowadays which sucks because it’s my favorite thing. I can’t really fall asleep at all unless I overwork and just crash.:ok_hand:t4:

Sorry to hear… I think a lot of us deal with this, mainly because of how much there is to do and to think about, not to mention very visually and mentally stimulating effects of TV and video games, etc…

Yeah it’s real common. There’s not much to do about it other than trying whatever you think might work for you.

I don’t know what you have available and what you have tried…

Non-prescription medications here include:

  1. Melatonin
  2. Diphenhydramine
  3. Formula 303

Non-pill form items/methods include:

  1. Warm glass of milk
  2. Read a boring book in low light settings (such as a text book, etc)

There are people who don’t get enough sunlight and so they have these bright lamps they use, for Seasonal Affective Disorder in the winter months without much sunlight, and that could lead to insomnia as well, and the lamps help the brain a little bit…

Of course setting the same bedtime and morning waking time and keeping to the schedule is important…

What else?

You might want to go talk to your doctor for more options if need be…

I know this is none of my business, so if I am overstepping just let me know and I will be quiet.

Nah don’t worry it’s appreciated and might help someone else. I’ve already tried the simple stuff like warm milk, tea and that stuff. And I’m currently on prescription melatonin pills and they help at least a little bit, but I really should contact my doctor again.
You know what works best? Good whiskey. But I keep that for the weekend.

Problem with alcohol is that it disrupts your sleep cycle. I know that it works, but while the alcohol is clearing out of your body and you are already asleep, it does not count toward sleep. Only when it wears off does that time then start counting as quality sleep.

Yeah I know, but I’m not sleeping well anyway so I much rather feel better at least during the weekend.
