What are you reading, watching and/or listening to?

I decided to rewatch Sløborn, now that subtitles are better. I can’t seem to find this show anywhere. Not HBO, not Showtime, Hulu, Netflix or Amazon…nothing. I really wish there was a streaming service within the U.S that pulled in foreign television and only foreign television.

I really, really wish Jack Black sung more.

(explicit language!)

EDIT

I swear, sometimes, it [(Darja & French] is one of the most beautiful sounding languages when sung. The other would definitely be Hebrew and Scandinavian languages, in my opinion.

OH MY GOD I THINK I FOUND THE LANGUAGE!

Uzbek! A Turkic language! No wonder I love it so much! Turkic, Arabic and Russian influences!

Summary

Dağdan da endi bir kuzu
Burmada burma boynuzu.
Aç kara közlüm közünü
Doğdı da çolpan yıldızı.

Bağçalardan saçılır
Sıra-sıra fesilgen
Daha nege tüşünesin.
Çoktan sözün kesilgen.

Bağçalarda aşlama,
Aşlamanı taşlama.
Daha yaşın küçüciktir
Ağlamağa başlama.

EDIT

(this may look like other songs I’ve posted, but it isn’t. It is just the same radio. lol)

Watching episode 2 of Superman & Lois! So glad this got renewed immediately for S2!

Most incredible car paintjob (imo) that could never work as an actual paintjob. Still mind-blowing to see both before and after.

Before at 0:27 and after at 7:34 for those that don’t want to watch the full video.

I did a little research on price because the guy in the video kept saying it was very expensive, but the truth is it’s not at all. It’s actually cheaper than most car paints you get from the manufacturer. Only problem is that you would likely be painting the vehicle very frequently to keep it in pristine condition. Simply driving the car would cause the paint to crack and ultimately chip or peel off due to the car’s body flexing as you drive around. Would work great as a showstopper for a show car though!

Someone shared with me this in an indie game Discord server:
I’ve heard this before; just never knew it by name and never heard it acapella before.

Watching the Pacific Rim anime on Netflix. So far…I’m really impressed with the English dub. CGI anime still makes my head hurt, but I’m willing to give it a shot.

edit

Okay, acting quality drops a bit after a few minutes, but it’s not too bad. Also, Hayley is adorable, animation is actually really nice (surprised Pikachu face) and I like it, especially the sarcastic AI of the Jaeger. There are a few things that were eye rollers for plot advancement, but whatever.

WandaVision’s finale had no business being that…

Massive Marvel and Wanda/Vision spoilers

depressing.

Poor girl just can’t catch a break, ever. Family murdered by Stark weaponry, brother killed by Stark SAI, had to kill Vision to save the world, had to watch him come back to life and re-experience his death but by the hands of Thanos, had a mental break down at the sight of his body being torn apart by the U.S government, resurrected him through unknown magic caused by severe grief, created a fake world in which she had kids with him and then had to put said kids to bed and tear down her reality magic, killing them, and watching Vision die yet again.

And Vision’s line is probably the verbal highlight of any Marvel content; “What is grief, if not love persevering?”

DUDE

The HELL. Give her a god damn break, Marvel, come on. :sob:

All and all, this shows that Disney’s Marvel can create incredible works of art without depending on a Joss Whedon joke every 10 seconds, even when a character is dying. Look at what can be achieved when character development and story matters more than making the theater audience laugh so much they forget the lack of substance.

These guys are pretty good. Obvious Led Zeppelin’insm is obvious but i feel like this is what a tribute should sound like.

pretty sure that’s heresy :triumph:

i think it’s ok to “borrow” when done decently, and don’t think i’d fall among the “purists” that scoff at Greta Van Fleets “derative’ness” :fist:

I think they will develop their own unique sound with time.

To imitate something well you first need to understand it and they or their producer clearly gets what made Led Zeppelin so special back in the day. And once you understand something to that level you can build upon it.

I think pretty much same thing happened with Gojira. At the very start they sounded somewhat generic but with time they really developed their unmistakable sound and profile.

I see bright future for these lads.

Just watched episode 189 of Boruto. The animation was incredible, and not just that, the art style looked so much like Naruto and not this weird slice-of-life hybrid. I knew by the end that this was special…and then the preview played for episode 190 and the animation and art style dropped to garbage again.

Good episode though. The fight scene was top notch. Wish we could have more of this…

I hear they rather :rooster:d up the end of the season, I’ve heard from plenty of people it was really good up until then.

I thought the ending was incredible, just really, really…sad.

Summary

Okay, so I thought the ending was great. Wanda got ahold of the Darkhold, which as we have seen from Agents of Shield and Runaways, is SERIOUS in terms of the magical and power world. This is, I suppose you could say, her birth right as the Scarlet Witch.

She’s seen reading it without having gone mad–as others have before her, except Aida and le Fey. Of course it is too early to tell just yet, but ig you look at others, they were quite literally mad. Wanda just seems determined to learn more about the Darkhold / her powers, all for the benefit for her family.

Agnes did tell her that her spell could not be “edited”, since no spell can, and pointed out all of Wanda’s spell flaws. If Wanda can learn more of her powers, she can recreate the spell better this time, without her flaws.

At the end, we see her floating in a cottage (maybe in Sokovia?) with a dopple ganger, studying the Darkhold. Before the credits hit, she hears her children screaming someplace.

How can that be if she “killed them”? Simple…THE MULTIVERSE! That’s right, we got into that territory finally. We know this is what Doctor Strange 2 will be about, and that Wanda herself will be in the film playing a pivotal role, but we also know that the next Spider-man will also deal with it in some way.

I don’t know why others would consider it a bad way to end the season, but I can say I thought–as a massive marvel critic–it was done very, very well.

Watched the latest episode of Superman & Lois. Great episode! Also gotta love Run The Jewel’s Ooh la la song appearance!

Summary

I believe the point most of the people had troubles with is that she’s enslaved an entire village of people making them her meat puppets to act out a selfish pity party because she’s lost a couple of loved ones. This seems to in no way be treated as a seriously villainous thing to do but instead she’s treated as if she is some how doing something heroic and selfless in giving those people back their lives and free will.

There was a good setup for a twist here as we could have slowly learnt and realized the horror she is inflicting on these people and “subvert our expectations” to make the main character of the series the bad guy in the end.

Instead it just kind of praises her for not actually killing everyone or something.

…or so I’ve heard, from people who at first really liked the series and urged me to watch it.
