Upcoming and/or Newish Games...

I searched high or low for a thread like this but for the love of life in me i am far to noob to do so… so created a new one… i’m just gonna post new upcoming or just released games here… obviously anyone is free to post me theirs… half of my time on stream is literally me just looking up new games or interesting genre mixes… the goal is to just find games that got past my radar… i’ll try and post daily or after trying out some of these demos… i tend to b very descriptive…

nextfest just came n went n with it we got a slew of game demos for some really cool up n coming games…

as a hordes game enthusist… (yes i refuse to call these survivor games just cause they resemble vampire survivors)…
this has a simple premise avoid waves while on a boat… (oh wow seriously no pun intended)
there’s a lighthouse that gives u a decent view and can b upgraded… i thought it was cool as it let u vent outward into the darkness with low visivility just to b shot down real quick… you are surrounded by rocks n its just a bubble… oof unfortunate… i wanted a risk reward mechanic for venturing out in the unknown but we will see when full game gets out if they can add new modes or new boats n crew… demo only has 10 waves n 3 boats… some guns are busted n some suck eggs… (cough cough harpoon gun cough)

so im currently playing this on my switch… its got a bout a month since its release so still newish…
basically Metal Slug metroidvania… if that at all sounds enticing i suggest u put this game on your list… early on all the upgrades made sense as military and progression so i was hoping the theme was kept with all these items… sadly that was lost the moment i got double jump… lol its just a double jump… i was hoping for like a jet pack with tiny boost but whatever… anyways game is fun loads of guns to play with… if i had any gripes it would probably b that i cant actively switch loadouts w/o having to press pause… need a gun to get through a door… press pause witch it out use gun then pause again n switch back to fav n/or stronger gun… sadlife… otherwise a very fun concept n execution…
10/10 would recommend again…

as this literally came out something like 2 days ago this was a magnificent game to play with… im more of a hardcore gamer n my friend is much more casual… while i could beat certain sections with ease n my friend struggled there was sections we where forced to work together to come up with a solution… n the game met us right in the middle… the story was alright nothing too shabby and as i’m a all-in kind of guy i obviously played my roll into my character as to making excuses for her n stuff even if i didnt view her point of view which made it funner… otherwise dont expect “grade A” character writing,
the mechanics omg the amount of mechanics this game throws at you are nuts… while most where pretty simple n not revolutionary there was still some oh wow moments for me…
the bosses wherent straight up bullet sponges and had unique ways of defeating which is a breath of fresh air from a lot of the other bosses in most games i have encountered…
i dont recommend two high level players to enjoy it as much for the game is far too easy with forgiving progression… but something to do with a friend or more than friend if the other is not that good at games in general…
lastly all u need is one copy to play with a friend this is a enjoyable time…
sadly its one of those one done games that wont b appreciated as much for not having that much of a reason to revisit but definitely worth that first playthrough…
it seems fairly short cus i think we almost beat it on a one 6 hour sitting run… (i lost track of time) i’m definitely finishing up this game with my friend… before getting back into some more guns of fury…

something along the lines of hades meets magicraft…
rogue-lite magic crafting game…
like hades it has an isometric perspective and a choice of starting weapons plus a dash…
like magicraft you can add elements to these 2 weapons of choice making each run unique… plus relics on top of that… passive items that help boost the individual or towards a certain build type…(not sure if hades had that)
where in the tree u add these elements will vary in results… the tree per weapons also vary leading to some interesting combination n playthroughs… u can always actively change your arrangements to try different combinations n results so u are encouraged to experiment… and or switch tactics if the weapon isnt up to par…
overall it was fun… hoping to see more elements introduced n what variety of weapons will b unlocked…

I’m looking at:

It comes out next month. I won’t buy it because RPGs take hours and hours to complete. But I definitely am looking forward to watching a Let’s Play on youtube.

so far ive talked about games ive tried or demo’ed well this kinda an exception…
little fighter 2 is a relic of the past… i even tried playing this last year… idk anything about the remaster or its changes n optimizations or even its release date… but i do know the old versioin of this game…

beat em up with 8 player co-op or versus party fighting game…
thats a mouthful ik… imagine playing keyboard with 4 ppl let alone 8… a nightmare to play with…
the game offers options to go through levels in a story mode with friends while picking some of the most dbz inspired fighters… it has about 10 or so main characters n probably a dozen more simple ones such as minions and this weird wired frame guy with not as flesh out fighting moves…
this game has a very decent amount of mechanics from special moves to tech rolls/jumps and item plays… characters have their uniqueness tho some can seem similar…
either way im excited to see this game being remaster and hoping to hear more from it…
just found this… this helps a little since there’s no gameplay…

Been waiting on my physical copy of this:

And I’m looking forward to Mafia: The Old Country, GTA6, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, and Ghost of Yotei.

I’m gonna be doing the same because I’m not a fan of turn based games. It looks really good though.

okay where back with some more demos i tried…
this is one for all you squirrel enthusiast…
you play as u guessed it a squirrel…
this is basically a cozy lil survival craft that has u mining digging n chopping resources to make your dream life a reality…
where else can you see a squirrel meditate…

a squirrel use tools…
image
(look how happy they are)
or even a scroll out and about a swim…
image

ultimately the demo left me wanting more…
after the tutorial island i was left to my own devices n most of the land was barred off with invisible walls…
it just left me curious as to wether i would b able to eventually cross over to a city…

or just restricted to the park/island im on…

would there b interactions with people or not…
well one thing is for sure this game will have up to 3 ppl co-op play and looks to b a nice lil family friendly game…

Nubby’s number factory

A cross between Peggle and Luck be the landlord.
Take out pegs, get money, buy upgrades that gives more points and money for destroying pegs.

Only played the demo yet, but really fun.

This is a simple rpg turn-based roguelike/roguelite idk hard to judge since u start from scratch but your character does level up granting more skill options that might make your run better… maybe???

while simple… click on enemy to attack and then they attack respectively all on the same turn to make it a quick process that makes it easy to get back into after any run…

the gimmick of overlooting is simple… defeat all enemies on screen… then get a nice little chesticle…

choose one item to move on to the next encounter rinse n repeat…

simple enough but kinda addicting…
every so often u get some shady guy who gets u free potions… (dw he cool…)
image
i just missed him… but i think this adds to his shadyness lol
image
i mean free potions right…
a book that opens one of you skill slots where u choose between 3 possible…

and all options can b seen at the start of the run so u can restart if want a certain skill to show up…
and a blacksmith who can randomly mash useless gear in to random gear of higher tiers…
image
he never once helped me but hey it might save your life to get that perfect gear u where looking for…

ok so what i have always enjoyed in rpg is the dynamic asthetics of switching gear… its simple but rewarding…
image
ok so my style is lacking but hey i made it to the boss…
image
i switched my weapon so i can hide my shame… nice…

each article of gear has classes… like rogue

ironclad

and as u can see having multiple of said gear will give u buffs…
and all that can b seen on your bottom right at all times
image
this was my best built so far…

i got as far as the 1st boss tho not sure what it was i was fond of the little potato looking baby…

overall a simplistic fun game which entertained me for quite a while…
would like some controller support tho…

no this is not a nightmare tho to some it maybe…

from an overly simple game to a vastly complicated one with many twist and turn…
altho is suppost to b a casually fun time the amount of things to learn was astonishing…
thankfully the tutorial helps u get into it pretty quick… im not a fan of overcomplicated things but if u follow along with the guidebook they give u which acts like your quest/missions you can build up your frog army in no time…

its got a nice feng shui vibe to it… artwork is nice and pixelated…

one thing to note is u are an anthropomorphic frog raising other regular frogs…
image
yup makes sense…
w/o the guidebook i wouldn’t what im doing… its nice and neat… with pictures even

again the amount of detail to raising frogs is astounding…
from height weight types, gears, to even nobility…
image
talk about your frog prince right there

ok all thats kool and all but whats the end goal…
honestly…
i have no clue lol…
its just an aesthetically pleasing zen type game involving raising frogs… magical frogs even…
theres no stamina gauge or fatigue meter just sleep if u want or not…
its some what a life sim but with frogs…
in a market saturated with farming sims this is a fresh take on that…
learn everything at your own pace and come back to it if u forget…
image
truly zen…
this world has several swamps to go through n travel through and even tho i dont see a end goal…
theres plenty of things to do and learn

even treasure to finds
image

u can even mate frogs…
image
bump chica wow wow…
sorry just thought i’d mention it…

final thoughts its a nice relaxing game… artwork is beautiful and theres a dedicated croaking button nice… even tho its not my cup of tea… it still surprise me to the ease of access this tutorial provided…
thumbs up for that…

currently free on xbox gamepass for open beta…
33 player co-op raid type game…
with up to four classes based on weapons…

bow of hope(shooter), sword of justice(tank), daggers of greed(fighter), and my favorite staff of sloth(specialist)

each class has a light attack a heavy attack, a special attack plus a support attack…
i only managed 5 runs of as now… trying the daggers and the staff…
completely opposite playstyle of each other…

each option can have repercussions… attacks and dash options are slow and can make the difference between life and death… dw all enemies are even slower and give off warnings before they attack…
i get it considering their is a lot of ppl on one server this helps with online connectivity…
i never felt the lag or like i got hit by something that was bs… except the boss… but i also had no idea about some of their gimmicks…

how do u even avoid that???

that game even tho has 33 companions u can have a group of four…
which is weird cus what if u get 8 teams of 4… someone will always b left out…
also its only 33 for the first map

the other 2 maps are much harder and i didnt even get to the boss…

you have one extra life if u go down…
image

otherwise u’ll have to b revived at a certain point…
image
altho u can revive anyone u can only respawn your party members at 1/4 of their health…
as of now im not sure if u get thrown into random teams of four as i joined 2 of my friends for a party of 3…
each map u’ll go around fighting creatures and colecting dust, bones and frankly anything they drop… as u can get unlockables here as well like pets and cosmetics are also rarely dropped

looking good there…

dust is your exp per round and can b used to level up stats in the round…

every now and then torture chambers are unlocked which only 6 ppl can enter to have a chance at a relic for the round…
image
u essentially lock yourself in a room with several minions followed by a 1 or 2 mini bosses for a chance at a chest with a guaranteed relic… or passive added buff
image

once u get the hang of the map u get this ascension notice…
image
its time to rush to the last map battle before taking on the boss…

all enemies and allies need to be here or they will take damage from the enclosing fire…

you get one last dust upgrade and head of to the boss fight…

a massive boss with 10 health bars…
but with so many people on screen here is where you see all the cool support attacks…
image
the strongest in my opinion is this cool arrow guy’s

at the end of the run win or lose your able to see everyones contribution points to the cause…

and they become crystals u can use to unlock more stuff…
theres a lot to unlock and grind towards even encouraging tryng out different weapons…

save your crystal and use em to level up perks that will make u stronger each run…

it was really fu so far n i cah’t wait till my next session with friends…
again its free on xbox/pc gamepass if anyone is interested
