I checked it out and apparently it had been free on GOG in the past and I have it already.
It has been a while. I remember there was no wait feature or being annoyed about not being able to pass time. I got pretty far I think but then the game or save got corrupted and I lost all my progress. I decided I’ll try again later and I moved on to another game.
For anyone wondering, the game is pretty good. Just got to deal with the way old games did things. I wonder if there are mods to make it better…
The Witcher 1 has a wait feature, but you have to be at a bonfire to use it.
Thanks for the post, I’ve finally got it yesterday. 
Now I have it both on Steam and GOG, and thankfully The Witcher trilogy has support for mods.
