Look at the shop! wink wink
There is a game for 250 coins? Typo or are we gonna have a game that sells out in 6 seconds?
Personally I reckon you should just increase the prices. Simple economics. If the shop soon becomes flooded with games due to less demand, more variety is never bad. Also gives you a break from finding developer’s willing to strike a deal with you if you need it. I’d say the top tier game could even be double what it is now.
I have said that all along, but watch for the wrath of the community!
Natanel: Not quite that simple. Attracting more paying customers applies to the publisher involved with the current daily deal. And unless Chrono.gg can prove that offering keys for the shop will have customers interested in buying their games in a future daily deal, getting a supply for the shop will involve a LOT of prodding to the publishers.
PeteMcc: My huge concerns exactly! 2500 coins didn’t slow us down that much (was hoping each set of 2-3 games would last at least 10 weeks), and 250 is just something that will sell out in seconds. Unless it’s a game nobody wants (which is extremely unlikely).
intimid: Might be a good idea, but the community will DEFINITELY be furious like what PeteMcc said. These forums and Twitter will be flooded with hate. But it may be a necessary “evil” (and I say that with quotes) because they can only spend so much time prodding publishers.
It might not be a popular opinion, but what about a coin cap?
As in, once you get to, say, 6000 coins, your streak pauses and you can’t accrue any more coins each day.
Then, when you spend coin, you can resume collecting coins… That way, even if someone just stockpiled coins, it would never get to a point where they were so far ahead that no one could catch up to them.
This is a reasonable option.
This is actually pretty stupid.
If someone has stockpilled 6000 coins that means he claimed NONE of the games previous to him reaching 6k. There is no difference between in getting a couple games right now and getting them later. In the end its his loss and your win. An uncapped coin amount doesnt offer any advantage because you dont know what games will be available for free in the future. In the end you might have been saving for nothing and it ends up that the better games are made available when you chose not to get them.
All you need to do is to click your bookmark daily and get some coins in the end. I don’t get why people get so salty over the matter. Maybe they are children. I got my copy of Dustforce and now i have 4k and im waiting for the next offers. Also if i were the owner of this place i wouldn’t pander to people that complain about getting free games because this kind of people will never contribute to the store by buying anything they are only here to demand more free stuff.
I have 6000 coins currently and purchased Hammerhead which I believe was 1000 coins a while back…
I’m wondering how quickly claimed the new game in the store that’s priced at 250 coins is going to be when it’s finally revealed. A couple seconds maybe? lol
Guys, check the store…or your email…lol
Apparently, after 2 hours it was all gone :\

Wait, there was seriously a game in the shop that was only 250 coins???
…Huh, now I know where all those CAT Interstellar Steamgifts came from.
Just came back to check the store, yep. That was fast.
I feel like that would be getting punished just because there’s nothing in the shop that I want.
your character assassination is completely uncalled for. SteamGifts did not magically receive a massive influx of CAT Interstellar, nor should you assume our (Chrono) userbase would abuse developer and Chrono admin generosity like that.
First, show proof that a bunch of these free games are being given away on SteamGifts (or any site). Your false claims are easily proven as there are currently 0 of this game in giveaways, regardless of contribution level. Nor is there a history of these games being grabbed up and dumped on SG. Why smear Chrono, SteamGifts, and their respective users with a false narrative? Or are you just pissed you didn’t get a copy because it was a fairly popular game with a limited number of keys and it was cheap so it sold out in less than an hour? I’m genuinely curious why you would suddenly claim this ridiculous conspiracy theory that “all those CAT Interstellar SteamGifts” popped up when 1) none actually appeared on SG, and 2) even if they did there would be no obvious link it was from Chrono…people are allowed to give things away to other people, just like people are allowed to change their minds.
Second, yes, things “sell out” quickly when they are FREE. You want a copy of CAT, full price is $4 or wait til it goes on sale. Send me your Steam username, I’ll buy you a copy myself when it goes on sale if you really need it that much.
Firstly, chill. Nobody is slandering anyone. Secondly, he’s not lying. Here’s an example for you.

The giveaways ended 2 hours ago (at the time of posting this), so roughly one hour before you posted your comment.
Of course, there is the possibility that the person just bought 2 copies of it, but for it to happen only after it was given away for 250 coins here? I find that to be unlikely.
Steamgifts is pretty ok in my book too (Hey, i just won something there few hours ago…), yes, there will be some occasional guy who ends up not activating the game and putting it up for sale / trade… Or even giving it away on steamgifts… But 1 copy that the user didn’t activate on his steam account doesn’t hurt us, unless it’s done en masse.
We all know exactly farmers don’t go to steamgifts to give, they go there to take. Simple as that.
Then they go to the grey market. My 2c
Reminder to keep it civil folks. To be clear, we’re fine with regifting, we’re not cool with people creating multiple accounts to farm keys.
Here’s another example of game appearing on Steamgifts only after it became available in the shop: Circa Infinity
