The OT Thread!! Post Here When You Feel The Need!

Get well with rest and great juice @GDBringer ,

For me, any idea how to conquer a phobia of one particular many legged thing?

I can deal with most bugs, even laugh if a house lizard lands on my head by accident. Last night I had a panic attack after a way too close counter with a “wedo not name it, we do not speak of it”,

It was rough of others in house. What can I do? Clearly 'exposure therapy ’ ain’t it.

I knew someone a long time ago who was afraid of certain bugs.

Real doctors probably use new methods. But I think they had her first look at pictures of the bug. If that was too much, they used pictures of “parts” of the bug to find out what specifically she was fearful of.

Example: A picture with only 8 legs. A picture with only fangs/mouth. A picture of only eyes. A picture of the bug butt. Etc.

I think that helped focus on the specific part of her fear. Then they started using pictures with some parts together. legs + eyes. fangs + butt. etc.

Eventually she was able to touch pictures of the bug.

There might have been some imagination therapy of her closing her eyes while imagining the bug somewhere far far far away.

I have no idea how it turned out since it was a long time ago and that person disappeared.

Edit: Wait. I feel like I wrote something like this before? Maybe it was on another forum.

plot twist: the reason she disappeared is giant spiders ate her

I haven’t played it, but probably experiencing them in a cute context would help:

Kk. I don’t like spiders but Lucas rules!

Actually @M00 , @GDBringer and @BlivetWidget it’s (yuck). Millipedes

Ew. I hate all the tiny legs. I hate that they are so quiet and easily sneak up on me They are snakes with legs which is wrong. Sniff. I don’t mind snakes

Here we have of late smaller reddish ones, but in more countrified places, there are massive, fat black or orange ones. Shudder.

I don’t even like seeing them in games. Conversely, centipedes are not that horrible. Usually hear them too, before you see them.

On we have Christmas worms too, same family, but flat. Those I got used to seeing.

Ps. They even live in some parts of Japan. Sigh.

I’m gonna be playing/showcasing a whole bunch of new (new-ish) games for about a week or even a bit more (possibly mixed with some Indiana Jones sprinkled in) on stream from today

there’s these (except for Tankhead, which I’ve done already) but then there’s like 4 more or so:

Sorry for not saying this before but I’ve been sick since last Sunday. IDK if it was the flu, the excessive heat, COVID or something else but I was really bad: it affected my nose, made me cough, pain around the body, dizziness and even shortness of breath. I also could barely walk around home.

Thankfully I’m much better right now but I still need to recover some more. I hope you’re having a better holidays than me. :v:

hi Delenn, yeah I’m here, just been rly sick for over a week now, which is fine, wife’s been sick over a month, and the kids too on and off, but the real problem is the baby got rly sick too and was starting to have real breathing difficulties (my wife and I been having some too now and then but nothing too serious) but for the baby it got so bad i had to take her to the hospital at 4 am last Thursday.

So yeah, just been focusing on the baby 100% to make sure she doesn’t get coughing fits that go on too long or get too bad or no crying too much so that her breathing can’t get badly affected by that cuz the doctor immediately wanted to intern her but when I told him I’d rather have her be treated at home (for a whole slew of reasons, one of which being that it would b torture for her [not much mercy here in dealing with patients, regardless of whether they be elderly or infants] and possibly inducive to her condition worsening) he agreed but told me if it got any worse that would be necessary.

Thank God, though she’s still sick, she’s doing much better. We’re all still sick but slowly improving, pretty sure it’s some form of covid, with each their own symptoms, though the one we all have in common is coughing a lot. It’s definitely viral since antibiotics haven’t helped shit at all.

And then depending on the person there’s bodily pains, fever, throat pain, ear pain, headaches, etc. I’ve been hit with all of them, lol, and to make matters worse I’ve also torn my eardrum a few days ago during the night cuz of the constant nose-blowing. I only realized it today when i started hearing air coming out of my ear when blowing my nose (and others can literally hear it coming out too) but I’ve been having rly weird ear pains/issues (way beyond what it was before, to the point that it would affect my alertness) for a few days now and woke up with my hair stuck in yellow shit on my ear in the morning but at that moment thought it was from using ear drops the day before.

So, yeah, haven’t been working/streaming, nothing, ever since the baby got that affected but hopefully everything will be okay.
