Already struggling to pay bills in this inflation and to even eat! And now they’re charging $80-100 more on electricity bills because of the gas price hikes, like that’s my damn fault? I don’t even buy gas! And this is on top of Obama’s electricity green energy charge? The bills are $500 already. We can never pay off the full bill every time, its only like $150 at a time because its just too much. Now I’m finding out we’re gonna need $400 or lose the house.

This shit is not fun, the stress is killing me. Being an American sucks so bad. This country is not great, it’s a hell hole. :face_exhaling:

I’ve been hearing about the supposed economical crisis that’s been going in there, and the future doesn’t look bright:

I do hope you can hang out there, though, and find a way to support yourself during those trials. :hugs: I’m sure the Chronies here can help you out one way or another, I hope.

However I can also relate since in my country the prices of gasoline and diesel also have been raising along the weeks and due to this the price of the products everywhere goes up as well. And I do blame the government we have for all this mess since they’re a bunch of incompetents and I don’t trust the news blaming everything on the Ukranian war and the post-pandemic effect.

This is why I even raised the price of my Patreon tiers, and decided to devise a plan where I’ll only participate from one Steam Sale per year, which means that since I’ve joined Steam Summer Sale this year I can’t participate from the Autumn or Winter Sales. Once this sale is over I’ll only be able to buy games next year.

Well gasoline/diesel prices over here pretty much rised by 100% since the beggining of pandemic. It was around euro for litre of gasoline , at the end of pandemic it was around 1.60€ and now it is 2.10€ .

Government is also unwilling to lower any related taxes because of the general green course of EU at the moment so they are pretty much just letting fuel prices go rampant over here.

Oh and we also have winters with heating . My average heating bill for the last winter was 270% more than previous year

World is going to shit, but that is hardly any news by now i guess…

That’s true. It’s been like this since the infamous year of 2020 but I think our decadence has already arrived way before that year…

Yea, honestly it feels like ever since 2000, the world has continuously dropped further and further into the pits of hell.

As if life isn’t irritating me enough, an accident on a store’s part just charged my bank (had $1 there) and now I’m -$33. It’s like there’s someone out there actively trying to make my life worse. :skull: whatever, I’m poor AF, what they gonna do? Come pound on my door for $33? Good luck, I guess.

No they’re going to charge you $50 for overdrafting your account putting you further into the red. Not even joking, unless you have a very nice bank or credit union it wont even matter that it wasn’t your fault.

There might be a leeway time frame for you to settle the account before they apply it though, which wont be longer than the time it’ll take for that store to refund you. So if you are at all able you might want to try to get out ahead on this and move some money into the account any way you possibly can.

Yea, they’re overcharging my account $60 on top of late fees if I don’t pay it in time, but what can I do? They already told me it’s out of their hands and although I’ve been refunded the $33, I’m still negative due to the overcharge. Being in my sort of financial situation just means I have to accept it, I guess. If I lose my bank, at least I’ll still have Chime. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Pawn something? Borrow the money from someone?
Just get those funds immediately even if only temporarily. It’s expensive being poor, do whatever you can to protect yourself from pointless expenses like this. Maybe the 60 really is forfeit already but those late fees will keep piling up, I would suggest going into an office for the bank and dispute the overdraft fee in person if it is at all possible for you. It is easy to dismiss a plea for kindness over email or webchat, much harder to do looking you in the face over a counter.

Yea, I can try to pawn my games, good idea. I’ve got some games I don’t play anymore like the Switch Monster Hunter, maybe I can get rid of them quick. Just gotta figure out how to get to a pawn shop or gamestop, or maybe I’ll try Mercari or Ebay.

Isn’t there a way you can have the bank decline payments if they’d put you in the negative? Might wanna ask them about that so those accidents can’t happen again.

If there is, I’ve never seen it on my bank. I’ll check though, but it’d suck if there were and it wasn’t on by default. I guess that’s how they get you though…

EDIT

Just listed some of my Switch games on Mercari and 1 of them sold almost instantly. God, I really hope this person is not going to try and scam me. lmao thanks for the suggestion Fraggles!

Damn why’s no one buying my damn Gpu .

Efing miners flooded the market so much.

First they contributed in making cards unbuyable, now they made them unsellable.
