Itch.io seems to be claiming that you can download games from them without creating an account, but at no point does it appear to provide a download link. Am I just blind, they’re good at hiding it or is the allusion to that possibility just them being tricky with me?

I can’t speak of how it works without an account. Itch is free and it’s a great service. As for this game, you click the link, you claim it and then it gets you to a point where you can download it…

edit. nvm, appears it doesn’t apply to free promotions 
i’m guessing since no purchase was actually made/processed it doesn’t take us to the payment/shipping method where an email is entered, -to get it sent (free) to email without account creation
