So now that the coin shop is officially done, though not yet closed. I thought it might be interesting to look back and see what games we got from this generous program.
I’m very happy with several of the picks I managed to put my hands on over the years so I wanted to say a great thank you to the Chrono team and everyone involved bringing these free games to us.
My haul:
Iconoclasts
Moon Hunters
Mekabolt
Seven: Enhanced Edition
Driftlands: The Magic Reveival
Seeds of Resilience
Reventure
Underhero
Frost
Battlevoid: Harbinger
Divide by Sheep
Pocket Kingdom
Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity
Convoy
The Silent Age
Mini Metro
Freaking Meatbags
Dead in Bermuda
MechaNika
Super Trench Attack
Cosmochoria
Brigador + OST
Now that’s a pretty decent list and with many really good games in it. I’m really looking forward to playing Iconoclasts. I’ve greatly enjoyed Mini metro, Frost, Seeds of Resiliance and the Brigador Soundtrack.
Which games did you grab and which ones did you like the most?
Space Beast Terror Flight
Moon Hunters
Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan
Distrust: Polar Survival
Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
Attack of the Earthlings
Splasher
Post Human W.A.R.
Forced Showdown
Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity
Hotline Miami
Shoppe Keep
Space Pilgrim Episode I: Alpha Centauri
Dead in Bermuda
Here are the games that I have gotten for free thanks to Chrono:
Safety First!
X-Morph: Defense
Redout: Enhanced Edition
Cheap Golf
Timberman
TERRORHYTHM
Game Corp DX
Hotline Miami
FORCED SHOWDOWN
Lovely Planet
Rusted Warfare
Blade Symphony
Spaceship Looter
King Arthur’s Gold 2-Pack
Thanks Chrono team for the awesome deals over the years!
There were many others that I would grab, but I didn’t have the coins or had already purchased on Steam. And I’m a bit ashamed because I didn’t play many of these games yet, maybe that’s some goal for 2020, set up a Chrono collection in my library . But I sure enjoyed Brigador and still need to get more into that, love all the vibes of that game, brings me memories of old Desert/Jungle/etc Strike games, but with mechs!
gotten 24 games from the coin shop over the years, some were gifts to chronies or just users “in need” one way or the other/without coins, can’t remember all the gifts, but i marked a couple.
Iconoclasts (gift)
Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
Redout: Enhanced Edition
Attack of the Earthlings
Yesterday Origins
Divide By Sheep
Pocket Kingdom (gift, i think)
Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity
Don’t Sink
Switchcars
Overfall
Action Henk
BUTCHER
Garfield Kart
Death’s Hangover
Super Duper Party Pooper (joke “gift”)
Freaking Meatbags
MechaNika
Bardbarian
JumpJet Rex
Cosmochoria
Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition
CAT Interstellar
Hammerwatch
as i tallied up my coin titles i noticed i had also bought 29 daily deals, so i think it, to my surprise, puts me in the black in terms off the balance sheet. Really thought i’d snagged more coin games than i’d bought deals
Most of these are still backlog stuff but I really enjoyed Frost and had a blast one night playing Frog Climbers with my cousin. Oh yeah and MechaNika was quite fun too!
28 games for free sounds pretty good to me! And I bought some daily deals too so I got even more out of it.
With or without the coin shop I will love ChronoGG forever!
I think I bought a total of five or six coin games, and because I only have access to physical currency, none of the daily deals.
(I checked my transaction history after writing that first bit)
Insurgency
Terrorhythm (TRRT)
TormentorXPunisher (the best game I had gotten)
Snowball
Cheap Golf
Knightin’+
Garfield Kart
Fictorum (wanted Redout and had the coins for it but no luck)
The Hex (only had enough coins for that one)
Now I have 411 coins; if I spun for the rest of the shop’s duration I’d get maybe another 2,900 to 3,500 coins. It wouldn’t even get me the cheapest game remaining, Minion Masters.
I wanted Syberia II, among a few others that I didn’t get a chance to grab/save coins for, but among those I couldn’t get here I managed to get most of them via other means (if I manage to get funds on GoG I can get some games that way, DRM-free).
Ah, are we sharing coin shop purchases? Including the prices, just in case they’re useful for some future e-archaeologist. And my thoughts on the ones I’ve gotten to play, why not!
For myself:
Mekabolt (5500)
Knightin+ (7500)
Cat on a Diet (4500, did not like it)
Millie (3500, also did not like it, but less so)
Distrust: Polar Survival (17500)
Deponia (10000)
Divide By Sheep (3250, never finished because the mobile format put me off, but it’s a pretty polished, nice-looking puzzle game)
Dungelot: Shattered Lands (4500, was a good time waster for a while!)
White Night (5000)
A Normal Lost Phone (4000, had a good time, missed the sequel in the coin shop though ;_; )
Whispering Willows (4000, not bad, but felt rough)
Spaceship Looter (7500)
The Silent Age (4000, had a better time than I expected, given its themes)
Deep Dungeons of Doom (4500, enjoyed it, but the post-game got boring quick)
