Relatively Cheap Platformer Recommendations (Preferably on Steam)

Here’s another one. Pure 2D platformer. Not too hard. Linear. And is often on sale for just a few dollars.

Also, check out:

Well look at that

Just went on sale for the week.

Save your money and waiting for this, trust me, I played a demo of this game 3 years ago, and been wanting the full game EVERY SINGLE DAY since then. There is no other games on Earth make me doing this.

You can download the Demo here, from developer’s website.

Oh my dear, I remember those days played this game on some flash games website, so much memory, thanks for the info.

i just so happen to know Slain Back From Hell is actually in one of the bundles on bundlestars in tier 2 for 5bucks, so could consider that “on sale” and ignore the whole 13€ price atm, if it’s a platformer you’re interested @Amaryllis3121

That’s a really good bundle for $5 though some of the games are pretty old but they’re real solid titles. Shadowrun returns, Stalker, spellforce, Tropico 5 are all great.

Don’t mean to denounce the recommendation by @Gnuffi, but I was furious playing Shovel Knight. Definitely not something you wanna play to relax in my opinion.

Did you like Olympia Rising? I think it looks beautiful and has a lot of potential IF the controls weren’t so bad. I played with a controller and it was a goddamn MESS. Played an hour and stopped caring. What a shame.

Trine 3 does exists, in an inferior form relative to its predecessors, but it’s there.
[/quote]Shhh I played through that buggy mess on launch, I refuse to acknowledge it as a sequel.

You, my friend, are in luck. Check out Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee that’s currently free on GOG.com

Seeing as we’re listing Metroidvania’s as well, I really enjoyed Shadow Conplex

(why is that steam store link borked???)

@xist you need to remove the game name from link so only app id number is there

Hi.
I’ve spent quite a few hours playing Steamworld Dig, plataformer, more on the easy side, and it’s on steam or free (on the house) on Origin.

There are so many great recommendations here, thank you all for helping out . I think I cracked it with your help and picked up some great games to scratch the itch and wishlisted about a million others.

If anyone’s curious, since I already have Spelunky and Guacamelee (which I completely forgot I have, way to go me), I’ve dug those out of the backlog and into prominence. I picked up Oddworld too and also Thomas Was Alone, which isn’t exactly what I was after but it was on sale and seemed like a good time to grab it 'cause it’s close enough and good narration is as good as good music to me . Replayability isn’t really a thing with that though so it’s lucky I padded out my wishlist with pretty much every other suggestion on here!

I was kind of hoping something would come up in this Humble Bundle but no such luck. I think I’ll save the rest of the money and hopefully something I really want will go down in price while I busy myself with those few, Oddworld in particular. I’ve had a bit of a hankering for Stardew Valley recently so maybe with the right dosage of each they’ll keep me satisfied for a while .

Thanks again for the recommendations, although I pity my bank account during the next sale :fearful:.

Momodora 1 and 2 are free downloads if you still want some suggestions. Not sure how long they are, but free is free.

Oh great, thanks for that, I had no idea. Hadn’t actually heard of this series until it was mentioned here but I’m definitely going to give it a shot now .
