Steam Families is now live.
Numerous changes vs the old system, but for me the wonderful thing about the new system is that if someone else in the Family is playing one of your games, you’re now free to play anything else in your library without interrupting them.
Yup it is a great system, I have been doing the beta for it since the day it came out. Many are mad about the household lock and the owner of the game getting a VAC ban as well as the person that cheated, but that is how the old system worked as well. Far to many are confused and didn’t know the previous system gave the owners VAC bans as well. The old system was also not to share with all your friends and family worldwide, actually against Steam’s TOS to even to do that, but people did it anyway even though you had to share your account info to do so. This new system has been great and works far better than the old family share.
