I have the game so I tried to get one for someone else here.

All I did was sign up and I got VIP. Later on I got a free game from Intel through GMG, and then way after that I bought Modern Warfare during their VIP sale. My guess is it’s just random. One of my friends created an account to get the VIP sale on shadowkeep and well they did get VIP
