Turns out I actually own the game but I have not played it. I just know that the setup for the plot is that your spaceship gets trapped in dimension VVVVV and you have to collect your crew and that there’s not jumping just changing gravity.
With that in mind it was quite easy, after the 2nd clue was added at least.

I thought the VVVVVV referred to your crew members? Violet, Victor etc? and I DID play it and I don’t remember xD I must have really disenjoyed it xD

Rejoice prisoner for your crimes has been pardoned, you and 3 others will enjoy a leisurely cruise to be dropped off at our mountaintop airship terminal from which you may simply walk to your freedom. It’s a bit of a climb down admittedly and there might be a few inconveniences along the way also please try to stay away from the ancient clockworks, even if you think it’s talking to you.

having just royally screwed your job up, you’ve been demoted and juuust skirted a (well deserved) severe firing.
in good old proper millennial fashion you try to excuse yourself and claim you’ve been “set up”, or tricked, fooled, got punked/someone playin a prank on you, and “you’re just the victim” and “it’s really not your fault everything is going straight to hell now”… #crymeariver
so by your bosses’ good graces you’re granted a bit of leeway and respite of the chance to try and fix things and prove faith in you is deserved.
ofc this could have been easier if you weren’t forced to deal/struggle with representatives from the oversight committee, and every other top or low ranking officials imaginable, constantly getting in your way with “procedures”, and all that/their nonsense.
(and if that wasn’t enough you also have your bosses’ stupid brown nosed assistant accountant keeping tabs on you 24/7 to endure)
will you find this mysterious frenemy that set you up and ruined your job resume, or seal the deal and look to your fam for the future?
