I spent many fun hours on Minesweeper back in the Win 3.1 days - it did get repetitive once you mastered it and the Russian Roulette initial clicks could get frustrating with luck as bad as mine but it was slim pickings with games back in those days. At the end of the day, it’s a cool concept and holds a nostalgic place in my gaming history.
Yeah, those made up the rest of the “slim pickings”.
I don’t think 3D Pinball accompanied Win 3.1 though - the Space Cadet table was an add-on pack for Win 95. Played a fair bit of that too but seeing the ball drain straight down the middle without being able to do anything to stop it after putting in the hard work to progress a few ranks used to make me ragequit.
Then again, MSDOS didn’t come with any ganes, so I suppose Win 3.1 was a step up for gamers.
