Nothing like digging up an old topic.

Neat crystals! I’ve never dabbled in the polarized crystallography through I do have the right equipment for it :microscope:. In completely unrelated news, my wife got a new area rug and decided it would go well with some microscope images on the wall. These are her top picks, if you’re interested =)

Those are our favorites as well (and my favorite viewing subject).

Interestingly, I don’t consider any of these to be particularly good micrographs. Pretty but not very useful. A DIC image like this one I took

conveys a lot more useful information and I would consider it a good micrograph, but it doesn’t fit the aesthetic she wants :man_shrugging:
