My nephew once told me to consider trying “Against the Storm”. I’ve never done Humble Choice before. How does it work? Can I do just one month? Would I get all 8 games or just a certain number of those games?

Yes you can do only one month, just don’t forget to cancel it in the settings menu of the humble page so you don’t get charged automatically when the next month bundle comes out (they charge automatically toward the end of month the bundle is released on).
You will get all the games, but if there are games you don’t want you are just given steam keys for each game so you can give the keys to friends or do whatever else you want with them.

The December 2024 Choice came with a one-month subscription to “boot.dev” (online programming classes, mostly), where normally a month costs $49, so this is a significant potential savings.
And the classes are pretty decent – I’ve been going through them, and they’re good. You can find equivalents elsewhere, but boot.dev has done a pretty good job of trying to make it more fun and less “dry” than some others.
However, the keys say “Must be redeemed by January 9th, 2025. Keys valid for first-time Boot.dev members only.” – so that’s only four days away.
And if I recall correctly, this means before January 9th, 2025, so this really means at or before Wednesday, January 8th, 11:59pm US/Pacific (HB usually uses Pacific time, anyways) if I recall correctly – about 3.4 days away from the time of this posting.
Looking through this subreddit there was also a problem with them running out of keys, so that would be another reason to redeem it early – if they run out before the deadline, it’s likely that you just won’t be able to use it at all.
So, if this is something you want to use, or you’ve got a friend who might want it … you don’t have much time.

The games seem promising, but nothing exciting for meow. I found a fair mobile game that has me building stuff enough as is.

I like the character mash ups. Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. Goldilocks has dark roots on her blond hair 
Make buildings, build castles, upgrade stuff, clear misty land masses to find new characters. Prince Charming is so accurate - a self obsessed influencer with a castle of glass. Unlocked him with mirrors
It’s not at all Pokemon, but you have 3 interconnected worlds. One has dragons and fairies to create. 
. The art and music is charming and relaxing 
Need that as I’m living with a narky kind of person who mainly talk to me for negative remarks or put downs.

Most of these I had not perused before. After looking them over, I added Trepang2 and Griftlands to my future wishlist. Have plenty to keep me busy for the time being though.

Since the majority of the choices are Strategy/Tactics I’m genuinely interested in them, not for resuming the membership but at least 4 out of 6, not bad guys

Neat. I also have to deal with a certain person like this in my life too, and I’ve found refugee not only in games but also in channels like Psych2Go and After Skool.
