How to use GOG Connect

If you have a GOG account, you need to learn how to use GOG Connect.You can get some free DRM Free downloadable games.Right now they are offering a bunch of Saints Row games. IF you have them on Steam they will give you the downloadable games on GOG. I already HAD 2 and they gave me 3 because I had the Steam game. I have already gotten VVVVV and Limbo and few others Plus if you are new to GOG, They give you four or five games when you join. (Or at least they used to).

You join here… https://www.gog.com If you already have an account…go to GOG.com Then follow the directions.

If you notice in the pic at the bottom…, The first 2 are brighter…I HAVE those…The last 2 are darker. I don’t have. If you have the any of those on Steam, they will give them as downloads

I’m still trying to get it to work, despite having my profile set to public, and confirming that I do, in fact, have one of the games licensed to my Steam account. Still stuck on No Eligible Games Found. Already tried logging in through the Steampowered website and the Steam client. Refreshing doesn’t change the fact that it can’t see my games list apparently. I haven’t contacted tech support though. Hoping it’s just heavy traffic today.

Try cleaning out your cache and rebooting. I know 1 time they had to reset my connection.

If that doesn’t work, contact CS/TS.

They only do this “connect thing” a couple times a year but it’s nice when they do…

It worked! GOG customer/technical support forced a resync on my Steam and GOG accounts and I got to claim my eligible games! Thanks again for mentioning the connection reset suggestion!

Does Gog give you steam keys, or do they just make you download them directly? Like if you just buy a game off there website.

GoG is their own platform, DRM-free
so gog keys/“products”/purchases are “unique” to their platform -downloader
so yea you buy/get game, then download a 1time installer for the game in question, and game is yours, just like the old days -no activation elsewhere

or you can use their “Galaxy”, which is a launcher/client that keeps your drm free library handy if you want that “semi-Steam” tidy/“my things in one place” feel

-just like origin, uplay, etc (“own stores/platforms”) either :wink:
nor can you activate steam keys on their store for drm-free copies, it would have to be a “GoG key”(which is rather rare to my understanding outside of the CDPR games) :blush:

How could it possibly have been? It incentivized people to NOT buy games on GOG. It may have generated some good will, but it’s existence only added value to buying games on steam.

Aww, it was pretty good to be true, though I suppose they couldn’t continue to keep offering this since I’ve heard they’re not making much profit. I built up my GOG library by about 100 games or so for free. Just having the ability to do that was really cool to me though, and I kinda wish Epic would have done something similar in their earlier days, though their weekly giveaways have built up my Epic library by 100 games or so for free too :grin:

That’s true. I really liked having them ported to GOG for free. I wanted it to be successful for players even though it was bad for business.
