oh yes, someone pinged me yesterday and I got it too. Great share.
I tried to do the download and it didn’t do anything really. So I went back to try again and it said the game was not for purchase due to me owning the standard edition of ff xiv a realm reborn. I never bought the game in any incarnation so I don’t thoroughly understand this since if this version is what I got, it must have just been a trial.
Sorry. No, any thing Sony is not allowed in my house. I was just thanking @Thorknight for the info.
Vague memories of wanting to try the game because you get to play a kitty and a male one at that. Perhaps you did this deal at the time? I don’t know why it would matter though… Hm.
Also Sony websites are confusing and didn’t even load properly in Chrome when I was trying to jump on that offer. I think there’s a sign in difference with the store itself and the game sign in / up interface, but no, can’t remember all the detail. @Thorknight may be more insightful.
I wouldn’t know. I’m not a huge fan of Sony. Are you trying on your PS4?
Old EDIT: From what it seems like, if you already own a copy of the trial version, which it seems like A Realm Reborn is, then you are excluded from getting the starter edition. Why this happens, I don’t know. My guess is that maybe they are afraid of people exploiting the opportunity to play more free days. That’s my guess.
New EDIT: It looks like I have proof in a receipt that I did get the starter edition, so hopefully if there are any issues I can just show that. Did not think about this. Problem hopefully solved.
This is where I found some information in this article about not being able to purchase the starter edition.
That just sounds like an issue with PS4. I had no problem from going from trial version to FFXIV (bought version) on PC, and that’s how my friend and sister started too (on Steam). It might just be how PS4 handles games in its libraries, and it doesn’t understand one is an upgrade to another.
