I have no requirements of skill for any potential partners. Be as crap as you like as long as no one’s a sore loser. We’ll drop in, get killed and queue up again. It’s fine.

That’s the point, though. Multiplayer games are all about frustration tolerance in the beginning as you get killed over and over, extending your lifespan second by second until you are comfortable with the game and make it to the endgame eventually. In this I wait 30 seconds to join a sever, 30 seconds to start a game, 30 seconds to drop, 30 seconds to get to the ground, 30 seconds to reach any item at all aaaaaaand die. I do that 2 or 3 times and then I need a break. I’m not a sore loser but it’s so much downtime inbetween that I feel like I’m wasting my time.

Yeah I certainly get where you’re coming from there, if only it was actually a mere 30s for each of those steps. I don’t really feel frustration with any of it myself though, of course I would prefer to see more game time than load time but I just alt tab out while waiting and chat with people or read something on the side.
My hope with teaming up was really to help negate the luck portion of the game a little. With 2-4 of us dropping together I would figure we’d stand a better chance of at least one of us finding something useful to help cover for the others while they search. Then everyone help watch each other’s back we’d stand less chance of being randomly picked off by someone off screen and if someone does get sniped there’s a chance of the team mates taking out the sniper and helping you back up.
So my hope is that playing as a team we’d see more game time over load time than we will alone and as a result have the opportunity to get better.

Shameless bump because I aim to play this a little later today, in maybe 2-3h time. Come one come all. Lets shoot some people and make them waste time queuing up.
