Forgot to post this deal when it went up yesterday.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon (aka Yakuza 7), unlike the previous titles which were brawlers, is a turn-based JRPG. If you’ve already played Yakuza 0-6, then you’ll probably know what to expect when it comes to the setting, storyline, and comedic moments spread between the serious ones. You’ll rack up a ton of hours just going through the sidequests in this game series. There’s also been a few people who’ve played the game without knowing anything about the series itself and enjoyed it so much that they wanted to experience the previous titles for themselves.
On the other hand, if you’re like me and you haven’t played through those titles yet because you don’t happen to own a PS4 (for Y0-7; PS3 only has Y3-5 available in the west) you’ll probably want to wait until next year. It was revealed at the Game Awards that The Yakuza Remastered Collection (Y3-5) and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life would be released on both Steam and Xbox Game Pass on January 28, 2021 and March 25, 2021 respectively.
