EA games are now available on Humble Store

I’d strongly advice against using Discord.
It’s a complete privacy nightmare that tencent has involved themselves with. They too wont hesitate to bow to the demands of china on a moment’s notice.

they will, but it’s not like they have a choice, honestly, there, it’s either that or not do business at all

speaking of tencent ofc, not discord (sry, i get now u actually meant discord, lol)

Well this turned into a mine field of a topic. I have opinions but I don’t have the time, patience, nor crayons to write it out.

patience is about all I have…always short on time and crayons here too! :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll gladly explain things in writing or verbally, however discourse is best served and how we can learn best

I’ll chat on Steam Voice too, whatever you prefer

Apparently I stepped on a landmine. I’m not gonna get into the debate, but I did vote with my wallet I would say. I refused to buy the game (as did many people) until they took out the parts of it that ruined it. i also waited until they put it so on sale due to their own incompetence.

@DontBeSilly only thing i will respond to is the first one. They have continually added new content and fixes to it. I’m willing to accept that. It’s not as though they just decided that taking the micro-transactions out was enough and did nothing else. I’m not excusing EA’s behaviour, but I think it’s ridiculous at this point to say that I’m supporting EA’s bad choices or condoning the micro-transactions in it by buying it at this point.

I was mostly just poking fun at EA, wasn’t meant as a jab at you personally and I hope you didn’t feel that it was. Even if it spiraled into a more serious conversation afterwards.

I understood you, don’t worry! I was just referring to the later discussion and how it blew up. Gotta say I do feel pretty accomplished though when I get a killstreak and wreck a control point all by myself.

Just you and some guns right? lol

Confirmed… I’m region locked out of this for sure. Clicking the banner on page cycles me back to main store page.

That’s too bad  and yeah just a few.

same here, but what I want to understand is why? It is possible here to buy stuff straight from Origin (I probably can’t though [haven’t tested, nor Uplay], just like I can’t from Steam [with my card] and Epic, but I can from Humble, Chrono, and Rockstar’s launcher too), and it is possible to buy stuff from Humble as well, so what is the point behind this? Why exclude certain countries?

Most likely it’s your country that has decided it wont allow them to do business there. Not steam and ubisoft that has decided they don’t want to sell to you.

No, Steam and Epic games refuse to sell to me because I live in Egypt but my card is US-based. (I haven’t tested Origin and Uplay yet, but I have bought from Humble, Chrono, and Rockstar.)

When this country decides they don’t allow something they just block it, lol, as is the case with certain news websites which simply dont work here.

We’re talking about something completely different here: these products don’t even show up in our Humble store, though I can buy stuff on Humble.

I see, sorry I misunderstood the issue. The whole CC country origin thing is understandable if annoying.
It sounds like your standard region locking then, EA decided they didn’t want to allow some regions to buy origin keys from a 3rd party store. Any number of reasons of course but I’m guessing it’s about protecting themselves from grey market, cross region resellers and CC fraud which they have a better way to control in their first party store but don’t perhaps feel that humble manages well enough.
