Skate or Die on the Commodore 64
I loved reading all your responses, it was really cool to see all the different games people played. Some games I haven’t even heard of because I’m to young to know and now I have some retro games to check out. Hopefully I hear more stories
haha I tried the pac-man thing and my ear feels extremely weird. I did hear pac-man though
Street Fighter II and some minutes later Super Pang in an arcade.
Sure I remember! It was Super Mario Bros.
I fell old but it was bomber man on PC.
The first game I played was called Fruit Machine and it was on the Amstrad CPC. I remember competing with my parents and my sister on who could get the highest score.
The first “proper” game (with actual graphics) I played was Digger! Back in the early '80. Played on a black/white screen, so I was quite surprised to see that it actually had colors!!
I do remember another game where you where a little arrow falling in a never ending pit made of numbers and letters, but I don’t remember the name, so Digger it is
Holy shiteballs, the Amstrad CPC-464, I had that game and PC too. If I remember correctly you had to hit the space bar to spin, is that correct?
Did you have the green monitor or the colour? I was a snobby git, I had the colour one but mine was bought second hand. So maybe not that snobby.
Other games I had for that system were
Football Manager 86
Turbo Esprit
The Saboteur
Daley Thomson’s Decathlon
Sport of Kings (Horse Racing)
Federick Forsyth’s The Fourth Protocol and many, many, more.
Finally, an answer. Lol. Who would’ve guessed you could have Pacman living in your head after all these years, eh?
Thanks for doing it.
Now do the same again but with both ears, Pacman is now in stereo, baby. If you prefer, call it a two player game or something.
During my childhood we never had much money so i never had any consoles or “gameboy” consoles alike, when i barely had a pc, i had those borrowed games to play that i played the shit out of them
First game ever played was this gem, i don’t think anyone knows it tho
(Cyber Gladiators)
Second one was this godlike racing game
(POD)
And a another that we’re a good part of my childhood
(MDK)
God dammit, i feel like uploading every single game i played hahaha so many memories
Good 'ol Future Cop too
and many many others
Probably Pole Position ('82) in a bar, or pong on a black and white tv, or some sort of “space invaders” on an handheld lcd screen game
You know, I keep getting the urge to dig out the directions to setup DOS Box and dig out my old abandonware/old/DOS Games on my spare HHD because of THIS thread. Then I will never get anything done… I may have to call someone for an intervention.
So that will be a no, in response to the question? Lol. JK
Classic games, those are.
You just reminded me though, the handheld that was Game & Watch with Mario Bros. in it. Remember this anyone?
My youth on a rainy mid 80’s day right there^
Hijacked my mother’s Apple IIc and tried Sid Meier’s Pirates! when I was like 4 and that was it for me, been hooked ever since.
Adventure Island and many more.
Yeah, I think it was the space bar. It’s been so long though that your guess is as good as mine.
We had the colour monitor as well. So fancy
We also had a bunch of games but most of them didn’t work properly. The only games I remember by name are Fruit Machine and Pyjamarama.
The good ol’ screech of cassette loading games, where you waited for 20 mins only for the bloody thing not to load up correctly!
Wait, why am I nostalgic for it again, it was f***ing awful!?
Contra on NES I believe, all those memories T_T
