I’m going to post something I posted into a steam discussion.
I’m looking for someone else who has an NVIDIA card to verify if it’s just NVIDIA
or if something on my system is borked.
So, I’m having a crash problem. It is literally ONLY in fullscreen. Before somebody throws DX12 at me, I’m running Win8.1, which doesn’t support DX12. And yes, I checked to see if it was on already. It wasn’t.
System:
Win 8.1
i7-6700K
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti
128 GB SSD (OS)
1TB HDD (game) (plus more drives)
This was not occurring on the 7th of Feb.
Steps I have taken:
Launch in Admin mode
Turn off all but steam overlay (if it isn’t going to work with steam, then eff it)
Reinstall Graphics Drivers
Install Feb 4th graphics driver
Check for OS updates (last was FEB 13th)
Delete My Games Division Folder
Validate Integrity
Check if DX12 was off (it was)
Start it on another screen
Unplug screens
Reduce refresh rate to 60Hz in game and monitor
One thing to note: when I installed the Feb 4th drivers, Steam no longer recognized the game files in their folder, requiring steam to “find” them.
I have a friend that is running Win10 and AMD graphics card, and he did not have this issue.
Finally, if I have to uninstall the game, I’m not going to bother to reinstall it. Your game is too big to muck around with reinstalling to troubleshoot.
