Crazy News Stories

What surprises me most is the article somehow fails to mention even once how lucky that fool was not to get eaten. Anyone who’s ever watched some good Attenborough documentaries knows what orcas can do to a seal when they’re hungry or feel like messing around.

Orcas don’t actually attack humans in the wild, for some reason, only known cases of Orca attacks have been in captivity and never in order to eat the person. Some times by apparent accident crushing someone against the side of a pool, but other times seemingly intentional by dragging a trainer down and holding them under.

Orcas are clever, they wont hunt humans but they will murder.

Biting a person attempting to body slam them would hardly count at “hunting”. Being generally chill doesn’t guarantee unresponsiveness when provoked.

(that said, after googling orca incidents there are indeed remarkably few confirmed bites in the wild - you’d still never catch me provoking one, though, even if they weren’t a protected species!)

So there is a rare tornado called “Dead Man Walking.” It is when two tornados touch ground and start spinning around each other.

Here is some crazy news of a tornado with many more than two. The video comments can probably explain it better than me. The video repeats twice for some reason, I don’t know why.

The video doesn’t repeat, it’s different angles/cameras.

Someone just tried to assassinate Trump.

The shot appears to have just barely missed his head and graced an ear, he can be seen bleeding across his face as secret service escorts him off stage and into a van.

Think what you want of the man or his policies, but I hope we can agree that political violence is reprehensible.

Thank God Trump is ok but unfortunately the shooter did kill an innocent person attending the rally. Just a really sad day

And this also pretty much guarantees that he’ll win the elections too, though that was looking more and more likely regardless, but so this moron (the shooter) is a moron twice (or many times over, I guess).

Sigh. Stinks of a sympathy setup. Ew.

It is rarely the team that appears to be winning who tends to succumb to fear, hatred and resorting to violence.

hm, it’s still early, and so i’m not saying this is 100% certain and confirmed, but so far it seems like this kid was actually a republican though, and not just in name but in actual ideology as well

Looks like he donated to ActBlue the day Joe Biden was inaugurated then registered as Republican to presumably vote against Trump in the primaries.

You’re referring to him being a ‘registered republican’?
Pennsylvania runs closed primaries so you have to register with the party if you want to vote in their primaries. There has been a fairly long standing encouragement, from both sides actually, of people to register with the opposing party in order to try and influence the party nomination process. Registering for a party is free and easy.

Donating actual money to a political cause speaks far louder in my opinion, $15 doesn’t sound like a whole lot of money, but this was in 2021 if he is 20 today he’d have been 17 then. Not a lot of 17 year olds has the convictions to throw any amount of money at political causes. They’re happy to do silly virtue signaling protests and yell at people that disagree with them but ask them to cough up $15 and you wont get a whole lot of of them stepping up.

In my opinion taken everything I know in with appropriate weights it would be very hard to imagine he’s actually right wing by any means.

no, im talking about actual accounts from ppl who personally knew him explaining that he was of a republican mindset and would also defend this mindset while debating ppl with democrat mindset.

Also, we don’t know whether that’s the reason he registered as a Republican. That’s just a possibility so far. We don’t even know 100% whether he’s the actual person who donated that $15, just that someone with that exact name did it.

Like i said, early days still.

To me, the thing that carries the most weight for me so far is him apparently openly advocating for republican ideas and the republican party, to the point that it was alienating him apparently.

but again, early days, not necessarily 100% confirmed

it will be interesting to see what actually comes out as true

In any case, I’m pretty sure this is just a case of a “deranged individual.” I wouldn’t see this as the act of a group of ppl or a “team”. If we wanted to talk about an actual group or “team” of ppl succumbing to fear, hatred, and violence, then we surely would have had a way better example of that in what happened only a few years ago in the States.
